My true self

AN: Hi! Just to warn you..... this is going to be a very.... and i mean VERY sentimental chapter.

Kirstie POV

The song started and i blanked out. I was so nervous. I just stared at the students infront of me and missed my part. I saw some students laugh at me and some of the ones in the corner started pointing fingers at me. I was so embarrased that i just ran off stage. I just started crying backstage..... i felt weak.

Avi POV

She dropped her mic and ran off stage. I heard crying backstage. "Erm..... I'm sorry about that. Just give us a minute and uh...... we'll be right back." I said and ran off stage. I saw her sitting on a chair with her hands in her face crying harder than ever. It broke my heart to see her like that. I didn't know what to do so i just pulled her off her chair and pulled her into a hug. She didn't hesitate at all and hugged me back instantly. I wish i could do this everyday with her. I wish i could hug her when she's feeling down. I wish i could be with her. But there was no way she would feel the same way about me.

"Hey..... what happened to you? You were gonna do fine." I told her hoping to calm her down and thankfully it did. "I hate seeing you like this. What happened Kirst?"

Kirstie POV

He......he what? He hates seeing me like this. That's..... new, and sweet of him. I decided to pull it together and talk to him. "I
.... i just.... i saw all those people and i..... i b-blanked out. I was afraid i would m-mess up." I sniffled on his chest. "You? Mess up? Like that would ever happen! You are too amazing to mess up. I really mean it and i believe in you." He told me and looked down at me.

We were still hugging by this time. He pulled away from the hug and grabbed me by the shoulders. "Are you ready to do this?" "I.... im r-ready." I said stuttering. "I can't hear you?!" He yelled. I just laughed. "Yeah. I'm ready. Thanks for this by the way." I said. "Don't mention it."

We walked back on stage and i immedeatly noticed a group of students laughing at me. I ignored them and focused on the music and what Avi had told me. "Is everything okay Kirstie?" Asked the teacher.... Mr.Hudson. "Yeah. Everything's fine. I just.... it's fine now." I said. "Good. Shall we start the song now?" Avi looked at me and i nodded and so did he.

The music started and i was in my own little world.

As i sang i heard some gasps. I opened my eyes and saw the kids who were laughing at me earlier with their mouths wide open. I closed my eyes again and got lost in the music.....again.

With every word i sang i felt more powerful, more courageous, more......... CONFIDENT.

Avi's solo came up and i felt my insides melt with each syllable, each word, each vers he sang. It was pure talent and pure beauty.

I finally found the thing that made me confident. It was music.

As Avi and I sang i felt stronger and like I was free. Avi helped me with my confidence.

He helped me find the passion i had for music.

He helped me find my true self.

The song ended and i opened my eyes. Everyone clapped and cheered and i just smiled and thanked them. Avi grabbed my hand. "See. I told you you could do it! You were amazing." He told me. "No. You were amazing." I said. "Well...... i am pretty amazing aren't i?" I just laughed.

"That was amazing you two. Kirstie's mezzo soprano voice really complimented Avi's deep voice." Mr.Hudson told us. "Thankyou sir." We both said at the same time and he giggled. "Well.... bravo. You both got an A+ on this assignment. And also.... i was thinking that maybe you two could be partners in all of the assignments since you did so well on this one." Avi looked at me and smiled. "What do you think?" He whispered. "I think...... YES!" I whisper yelled at him. "We would love that sir." I said. "Well it's settled then. Class dismissed."

Avi and i left class together since we were both heading to our dorm. We just talked about random things. We were almost there when all of a sudden Avi's so called 'friends' came up to me. "Hey dork. I heard about you're choir performance and how you ran off stage. Hey boo. I'm so sorry for you. You have to live with her and do your projects and stuff with her. She's just... ughhh. Come on Avi. Let's go." Amanda said.

I thought he broke up with her. Oh well. I'm just the roomate again. I started walking away untill i heard Avi shout. "Listen up dimwit. I broke up with you. I don't like you. Yes okay. She ran off stage during her performance, but she got back on stage and amazed everyone..... including me. Just because you're jealous of her talent, beauty, intelligence and the million other qualities she has doesn't mean you can make fun of her." "B-but boo..." Said Amanda. "But nothing" he said as he walked away but he turned and said "And i am not your boo!"

He caught up with me still frozen in the same spot. "Are you okay Kirst?" "I'm fine....I'm more than fine actually. Thanks for sticking up for me." I said and hugged him tight. I heard gasps and looked over to see Amanda completely shocked. I didn't care though. Then Avi spoke. "Always. I will always be there for you." He said and i finally had a little bit of courage and confidence and kissed his cheek. He smiled and turned bright red.

We started walking and i looked back to see the others still shocked. I smiled to myself and continued talking to Avi.
