THE OLYMPIAN BALL
Kakabalik lang namin sa temporary cabin namin. I was surprised to see a flowy white gown in my bed. May letter na nakapatong sa ibabaw n'on. It had the sign of Olympus, Ω.
Tiningnan ko ang iba kong kasamahan, kahit pala sila ay may natanggap din. They immediately opened their letters, and joy was written in their face. Nakuryos ako, at tiningnan na rin ang nilalaman ng liham.
Dearest Xynthea,
Later tonight at 10 pm, an Olympian Ball will be held including all Gods and Goddesses. Please wear the gown you're provided, and get ready for the ball. A Semideus will fetch you from there, and he/she will also be your partner for the night.
During the ball, one of the Gods will be approaching you and make you his/her mentee (only if you've caught their attention.) Tonight will be the moment you'll meet your mentors. Best of luck, Semideus. αντίο

The night came on very quick. I was already dolled up for the ball. My silver hair was in a bun, and I let some bangs fall to cover my scar. I sighed seeing my pale skin in the mirror.
May mga sumundo sa mga kasamahan ko na Semideuses patungo sa Olympus. I waited for mine. Mukhang ako ang pinakahuling susunduin sa'min.
Finally, someone knocked. I almost hopped towards the door, if it weren't for my heels. I opened and my jaw dropped the moment I saw a beauty of a guy with jet black- close to dark blue- hair, and sea green eyes. Mabilis kong sinara 'yon sa kahihiyan.
The man chuckled softly, "I'm sorry. Did you wait long, lady?"
My jaw dropped once again. Nakilala ko agad ang boses na 'yon, and that same teal eyes on the opening of the Olympus Gates before. It's the mysterious master! 'Yong nang-stalk sa'kin sa tests? Hindi ba, siya 'yon?
Tila napansin niya ang pagtataka sa mukha ko, kaya't tiningnan n'ya rin akong nagtataka. Wait, nagmamaang-maangan ba siya? I recognize his deep voice! Na bumagay sa kagwapuhan n'ya.
"You're the Master," I acknowledged. Nabigla naman siya.
He bowed his head a bit. A smile tugged in his lips, "Sorry? My name is Zeref, lady."
Naglahad s'ya ng kamay sa'kin... pero nasisiguro kong siya 'yong Master na sumagip sa'kin, along with Gideon! Speaking of him, makikita ko siguro siya mamaya sa ball? Then... maco-confirm ko na 'tong si Zeref 'yong Master!
But what if I'm wrong?
"Please take my hand. We might be late for the ball," mahinahong wika niya. Nagtaas-kilay ako at hinawakan ang kamay niya. Napakurap-kurap ako nang makaramdam ng elektrisidad. Literally, like lightning.
Napatingin ako sa paligid at nagulat nang mapansing nasa ibang lugar na pala kami. Olympus. Did he just teleport? Tumingin ako sa kaniya, at nakangisi lang siya sa'kin, like it was normal for him.
Hinawakan n'ya ang kamay ko at nilipat 'yon sa kaniyang braso. He spoke once again, "I am the only mentee of Zeus. I am also his demigod son, so please don't be too surprised."
Pinisil ko ang braso niya, "I'm sure ikaw 'yong Master na sumagip sa'kin noon sa exam."
He glanced at me with one eyebrow raised, then shook his head. "I don't even know you. Bakit kita sasagipin? Crazy."
"I'm Xynthea, you said my name before. Paano mo ba ako nakilala, ha?" giit ko. Sigurado talaga akong s'ya 'yong Master! Ayaw niya lang umamin, but okay lang, pogi naman, char.
"Uh-huh," he said. Hindi niya ako pinansin, at bumati sa ilang mga Semideuses. What the Olympus! Hindi ba talaga s'ya 'yong Master? Nang lumingon siya sa'kin, saka palang siya tuluyang nag-react.
"So, your name is Xynthea?" My name curled in his tongue beautifully. I mentally shook my head. Napalunok nalang ako at nag-iwas tingin. I just hoped he really is that Master because I hoped someone knew me from my past.
"Ano bang gagawin natin dito?" tanong ko nalang.
"Just wait until some God steals you away from me."
I pouted. Paano ba pumipili ang mga Diyos ng kukunin nilang mentee? Ano 'yon? Titingnan lang nila 'yong Semideus tapos kapag trip nila, kukunin na nila? Lol. I mean, ayaw ba nilang makita kung ano ang kakayahan o lakas ng makukuha nila? But oh well, I'm in no position to complain.
"The Gods choose mentees through connection," saad ni Zeref na tila nabasa ang iniisip ko. Iginawad niya ako sa isang table na may bakanteng isang upuan. He pulled the chair, and motioned me to sit there.
"Connection?" tanong ko bago umupo. Nanatili siyang nakatayo sa likod ko. Humalukipkip siya at kinakawayan lang ang mga bumabati sa kaniya. Wow, he's famous.
He looked at me, and licked his lips before nodding. "Hindi ko rin alam kung paano gumagana ang bagay na 'yon. There was a saying that all of us are connected to a God, since they were the ones who created us. I'm not sure, but that's it."
Tinaas niya ang kamay niya bilang pagtawag sa isang waiter. Kumuha s'ya ng baso ng tubig at nilagay sa table. Wait, is it for me?
His hands rested on the top rail of the chair I'm sitting on. Nanginig ako nang saglit na tumama ang likod ko sa kamay niya. Napa-inom tuloy ako ng tubig! Hindi ako sanay na makisalamuha sa... gan'tong klaseng lalaki. He looks full of class and his beauty intimidates me. I became more curious if he really is that master.
"Do you want to dance?" tanong niya sa'kin. Napatingala naman ako sa kaniya. Sa likod niya nakita kong may mga nagsimulang sumayaw na. He didn't wait for my answer and grabbed my hand.
