Carved Hearts:
Stone against the tree
Etched our promise of together
Hope caught in between
The "You 'heart' me forever"
Future led me to wishing
But it too, has ended
The tree was already dying
Even before our forever started
Our memories turned to dust
Just as the leaves blew apart
Our promises still I trust
There's more to us than carved hearts
