I sit in the waiting room of the orphanage's office tapping the arm rest with my finger.

"Okay, I was called down here 10 minutes ago. Is no one going to tell me why I'm-" Finally Mr. Morgan walks out of his office with a kid about my age. "Don't let it happen again." He tells the them. "Yeah." And the kid makes their way out.

"I apologize M-" I stop him, holding my hand in the air. "I don't need your apology. Why am I here?" I ask. He beckons me towards his office and once we get in I sit down in front of his desk. "Well Miss Hart it appears that you were just about to attend school at-" he looks down at his desk. "The John Quincy Adam High School before you have your... uh accident." My eyes widen as he states the name of the school.

Why... Why do I feel like I know that school name?

"Miss Hart." Mr. Morgan calls out to catch my attention. "Uh-yes, yes that's right." I look down at my palm before looking up and slapping my hands on his desk. "Look. I need to know something." He jumps back in shock. "When did I go into a coma?" He nods. "Well you see. You were found in your bedroom by your brother on what appears to be-" he glanced back down at the paper. "August 26."

I sink down.

I was hoping maybe I had already started school or something. That they at least knew my name. But no. I had fallen into a coma during the summer.

"Anyways, we enrolled you into a school that most of the students here go to which happens to be that same school you would have went to. Although it is well into the year, hopefully you are able to make friends there. That way your stay can be more peaceful before you are adopted... Or before we can get in contact with you- with your mother." He says.

I bite my lip. My mother.

She lived in a... Ugh why can't I remember. I tap my foot trying to remember where my mother lived in the dream.

"A PENTHOUSE!" I yell out. Mr.Morgan looks at me with a confused expression on his face. "Thank you so much for telling me this stuff. Can you please give me a list of all the penthouses across town." I say not even in my seat anymore. "Of course. Um. May I ask. Why do you need it?" He asks. I look at him and stomp my foot. "No questions." He smiles and goes to his computer. "Quickly please." I add.

He prints me out 4 sheets of paper paper, front and back, of different address. I run out his office.

I don't even stop when I hear him call out my name.

"WOAH!" I yell as I bump into a stranger causing them to fall. I look down and it's the same kid from the office. They push off the floor and begin to walk away. "WAIT!" I yell out. "SAM!" I say without even realizing the word that just came out of my mouth. Who the hell is Sam. The person turns around slowly and makes their way over to me, pointing a finger which is barely visible in their sweater paws. "How do you know my name?" I look down. "I- I honestly don't know."

Sweater paws.

I look up and am meet by familiar green brown eyes. I remember Sam.

"What do you mean you don't know?" I continue to stare as I feel my adrenaline pumping. "You just look like a Sam." I say. "Yeah. Okay. What do you want?" They ask. "Do you know any penthouses across town." I say remembering a small detail. "No. I've never been over there." Sam looks down. "But you can ask Renee. She's pretty friendly with people over there." I nod and Sam and I walk to the dining hall for lunch.

"Hey Renee." I say, setting my tray on the table as I sit down across from her. She smiles up at me. "Hey. What's up." I look beside her and I don't see the little girl with the stuffed bear. "Where's the little girl?" I ask. Renee looks around and furrows her brow. "I actually don't know. She comes around when she wants to I guess." I nod. "New girl here wants to know about the penthouses across town." Sweater paws explains. "Oh. What about them." My eyes light up as I remember a girl named Emma. "Do you know a girl named-" I stop myself.

It would be weird to ask about her real name considering she doesn't know who I am.

"It's a penthouse with a really nice young gentleman in the front. He has-" I strain my brain as I try to remember details of the doorman. "He is a doorman?" I say, but it comes out as more of a question. Sam looks at me with a confused glance. "Tony?" Renee says. I smile and nod. "Wait. Are you actually attempting to, ya know, look for them?" Renee says taking a bite out of her burger. I nod and smile real wide. "I'm heading over to that part of town later to meet up with Carla so I guess you can tag along." Renee plans. "Thanks. I really appreciate it." I reply.

I was planning on hopefully finding my mom and Emma. I don't know how I will explain all this to my mom. She's been gone for years and I don't even know the reason. Now I'm about to show up to her door and say 'Hey! I'm your daughter. I had a coma and dreamt we met and lived together!' I frown. I can't do that.

Maybe I'll start off small.

"Good idea." I hear a little voice say. I look beside me and the small girl holding the stuffed bear is looking right back up at me. I gasp. This is the second time this has happened. Can she read minds or something. I laugh awkwardly.

"What do you mean?" I question. She nudges me with her elbow. "Your plan. I like it." Sweater paws, Renee and I exchange confused glances.

"Can I tag along too?" The little girl asks.

I simply shrug, still stunned.

"Cool."
