Josh's pov:

so far my winter break has consisted of group chatting Jack and Jenna talking about our cute boyfriends and stuff. And to Jordan because we like to gossip about our parents to each other.

I've only seen Tyler once during winter break because his family went out of town to visit more family.

we text 24/7 but I still miss him lots, he's coming back Saturday though and mom says he can sleepover, although she still thinks we're just best friends.

we haven't told our parents that we're dating because then they won't let us spend the night at each other's house in the same room haha

i'm currently putting on my jacket and boots, the neighbors said they would pay me to shovel their snow so I can get my drums sooner

I should probably get a job like Tyler but my mom says I can't look for a real job until I've completed therapy all the way this time.

unknown number: hi is this Josh ?

me: yes, who's this?

unknown number: I don't know if you remember me but my name is Brendon I met you at the mall

me: oh yeah I remember, when I was suit shopping right?

Brendon: yeah haha that was me, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out? I don't really have friends and I need someone to talk to, if not it's fine

me: we can hang out in 20 minutes I'll meet you at the mall?

after shoveling my neighbors snow I head to the mall to meet with this Brendon guy.

"hey just to clear the air and stuff so your boyfriend won't be worried and stuff I called you cute the other day because I was trying to get over a break up I had recently which I just realized i'm most definitely not over and i'm in no position to move on any time soon" Brendon starts

"haha ok I'll make sure to tell Tyler, so what is it you wanted to talk about?"

"I miss my ex boyfriend so much, and I don't know what to do, i'm so tempted to send him a long text him because I feel like i'm all bottled up I don't know what to do" he says, his voice starting to shake

"well maybe you can let out all your feelings about him but to me instead of to him"

"ok well I guess I should start with the break up, it wasn't bad we didn't have a big fight or anything, he was moving away and we knew most long distance relationship don't work out well, so we just decided to break up on good terms and we started texting as friends but he just stopped responding" he says with sadness is his voice.

"he was my best friend, he was perfect, we loved to make music together, I can't even listen to the Beatles without crying because he loved them so much" he says with tears in his eyes "I miss him so much"

I give him a small side hug.

"hm did he say you couldn't talk to him anymore or?" I ask

"no that's what makes me worried because he just didn't reply mid conversation, I miss him so much it hurts so much but i'm scared if I try to reach out to him he won't respond or he'll tell me he doesn't want me in his life anymore" he says sniffling

"hm well I bet it doesn't hurt any more than it already does to try to talk to him. maybe send him a text? or maybe even try calling him? but I do think you should stick to wanting to be friends first" I suggest

"what should I say?"

"whatever your heart and mind agree on"

"o-okay, thank you Josh, for helping me even though you barely know me"

"anytime I can help someone I'll always try"

"ok well I have to go, I'll tell you how it goes"

"ok, take care bren "

now I miss Tyler.

but at least I get to see him in a couple of days, poor Brendon I hope everything turns out good for him.
