Kye

I climbed into Jake's truck. I seriously loved that truck. The seats were plush and comfortable, and hell, what girl doesn't love a hot guy with a truck?
As soon as I got in, Jake handed me a package from the backseat. I glanced at it, seeing my one and only pride and joy! "Butter finger cups," I exclaimed with sheer joy. "How'd you know?" Jake smiled. "Our little movie night, remember?" I returned his brilliant smile because I did. I remembered that night and all the other dates we'd been on.
Jake got in the driver's seat and started the engine. "Ya ready babe?" He asked with a mischievous grin lazily slipping across his features like molasses. "Where are we going?" Jake just lazily grinned again before turning out of my driveway.
I elevated an eyebrow, but Jake was too focused on the road to notice. I guess there are worse things to be than a super focused driver.
When I realized that answers weren't probably forthcoming for a while, I switched on the radio.
*Next thing I know, you were in my tshirt right there. Your hair messed up like a Guns and Roses video. Oh oh. So hot. Still got it up in my head...*
I loved that song and bobbed my head to the beat. I instantly stopped and became a tomato when I caught Jake not only looking but also chuckling to himself.
*But it's hard to unlock the door when you're making out. You keep sayin that we gotta stop doing this, then why you leanin in for one more kiss?*
I ripped open my package like a rabid animal who hasn't seen food in months. "Mmmmm," I moaned in pure uforia. Jake outright laughed that time. "You're cute. You know that?" "So I've been told," I quipped back, shooting Jake a glare warning him not to ruin my moment with the loves of my life. "If you excuse me, my long lost loves and I are having a moment." "What about the love that got you those?" Jake asked, pretending to be offended. "Oh...you mean that guy I'm with just for the benefit of free food?" I joked, before leaning over and kissing Jake on the cheek to solidify the point that I was obviously just joking with him. My mood brightened even further at the little personal firework display I was treated to feeling after our skin made contact.
If  only butter finger cups could give me that...

Jake

After a bit of driving, me and my beautiful mate pulled up at an amusement park. She threw me a confused glance, but excitement danced in her eyes.
"What are we doing here?" Kye asked, sounding interested.
"You'll see soon, my angel." I saw the corner of Kye's impossibly perfect mouth twitch up in a sort of smile. But once again, she internally fought the pull of happiness. Sometimes, I thought that she was just doing this subconsciously as a type of defense mechanism against life, as if she could somehow block off the good feelings she would then be better prepared for the bad. I took a deep breath, fighting back my brooting thoughts because I just didn't want to ruin the special moment that was to come.

After buying tickets and walking around, I finally found whatt I had been looking for. It had been a long time since I had been here, and the park was switched around a bit.
*Flashback*
"Jj!" Ally waved at me happily from the bright pink, glittery carousel horse she was mounted on. Damn. She was my little princess. My mother laughed and snapped a picture. "Jj, ride with me?" Ally's small voice asked as she ran to us after bounding off her sparkley horse and through the ride's exit. "I don't think so, my little alligator." "Pleeeeeeease, Jj?" Ally gave me puppy dog eyes. Shit. "Okay," I said while letting out a great sigh. I then turned to my mother. "No way are these pictures making it anywhere near the Internet or another human being's eyes for that matter." My mother just laughed and shook her head at me. "Come ooooon Jj," Ally yelled over her shoulder as she ran toward the board-looking ride attendant. "You better go. You're princess is waiting," my mother informed. "Can we ride in the castle seat?" Ally asked, her little green eyes filled with wonder. "Can't we ride the dinosaur seat instead?" "Not happening, Bucko." I couldn't help but chuckle to myself as I followed my little alligator, who's chestnut curls could now be seen bobbing as she ran toward the castle carousel seat. If I only would've known then that my little spit fire would be taken from me soon, I could have savored that memory even more.
*Flashback over*
I grabbed Kye's hand and dragged her toward the large roller coaster of the park. This was the closest thing to running and being free that I could dream up. Kye looked at me in horror.
"No way in hell am I going on that." When I didn't react Kye huffed at me. "Are you freeking crazy? What is wrong with you? I'm not going on this dam thing." People were starting to stare now. I shook my head.
It was then that I realized Kye's breathing was becoming shallow, and despite the chilly temperatures, I could see the gleam of sweat on her forehead.
"Kye, what's wrong?" No response. "You don't have to do this angel. It's okay. We can go home."
Kye just shook her head at me. "It's not you. It's just....its just...I made a promise, and I broke it." I must have looked totally lost because Kye tried her best to clarify. "I made my promise on this ride, and I didn't keep it...."

A/N: Hmmmm. What promise is Kye referring to? I like this chapter, sadness and all.
