7 Years Later

I sat on the couch, holding my baby girl in my arms while I fed her a bottle. My two year old son was sitting on the rug in front of the tv watching cartoons waiting for my wife to bring him his food. I sat the bottle down and began to pat my daughter's back, trying to get her to burp. When she finally did, laid her back down in my arms and looked over her. She was so beautiful I still couldn't believe how blessed I was to have her.

My thoughts were interrupted by fingers gently moving through my hair. I looked up to see my wife smiling down at me, "You two have been attached to each other ever since we brought her home."

I smiled up at her, "I know but that's how you were with James. That's how you still are with him."

She sat down on the couch and lifted up James into her lap as she started to feed him, "That's because he's my little man, isn't that right sweetheart?"

He smiled goofily at her, "Yeah Mommy."

I chuckled, "I tried so hard to get him to say Momma/Daddy first. But I don't blame him, I would listen to the pretty girl before me, too."

She laughed lightly as she was feeding James but paused to look up at me, "Almost nine years and you're still flirting with me?"

"Of course because no matter how much time goes by, you'll always be my pretty lady."

She blushed slightly and shook her head as she continued to feed our son. I looked down at our daughter and gently took her little hands in mine.

"I still make Mommy blush even after all these years, don't I Lily?"

James giggled and looked at me, "Mommy is Momma/Daddy being silly?"

Kendall laughed and nodded, "Yes she/he is."

I looked at my son and kissed his head, "It's my job to make you and Mommy laugh, and it's your job to finish your dinner. I did my job already now you have to do yours."

"Okay, Momma/Daddy," he said as he turned back to Kendall and continued to eat.

I looked back at Lily who just kept her big brown eyes on me and made a slight gurgling noise. I softly kissed her hands as I whispered, "Momma/Daddy loves you princess."

She gave me a toothless grin in return as she continued to stare up at me. I smiled wide down at her.

"She's just so beautiful, just like you, Ken," I said as I looked back at my wife.

She was about to say something back to me but we heard the turning of a key in our doorknob. We both looked at it, to see Bodhi and Arabella walking through.

"Hey speed racer what are you doing here?" Kendall asked as she got up to put the now empty bowl in the kitchen.

"Ari and I were passing by on our way to dinner and we figured we would stop by to see my favorite niece and nephew," Bodhi said as he walked over to James and lifted him up.

"Uncle Bodhi! Uncle Bodhi!" James cheered as he was lifted up.

"Hey JJ you act like I haven't seen you in weeks. I saw you on Monday, man," he said as he held James close to him and kissed his forehead.

"Just dinner tonight or what?" Kendall asked as she came back into the room.

"Dinner and a movie," Arabella said as she sat down beside me and gently held one of Lily's hands.

"It's nice to finally have a license right?" I asked.

"Oh yeah," Bodhi said, "I hated having to call a car to take me on all my dates."

Arabella laughed, "It was like one date. Relax."

Kendall sat down on the arm of the couch beside me and moved one of her arms around my shoulders.

"You know, Y/N and I knew you two would wind up together one day. Ever since Y/N's birthday at the park," my wife said.

Bodhi smiled and looked at Ari who was smiling right back, "I think we all knew."

Bodhi set James back down and checked his phone, "Alright babe we better get going if we want to catch that movie after we eat."

Ari nodded and stood up, "I'm sure we'll be back next week, you know Bodhi can't stay away for long."

I chuckled and nodded as she leaned down to kiss my cheek, "Alright I'll see you later sweetheart, watch out for him for me,"

"I always do," she replied and moved over to Kendall to give her a hug and kiss her cheek.

"Have fun tonight but not too much fun," Kendall said as Ari pulled away.

"Yes ma'am," Bodhi said before he hugged her.

"See you guys later," I called out as they walked out the door.

Kendall picked up James and moved him onto her lap. She ran a hand through his hair, "Hey buddy, I think it's time to go night night."

"Watch this first, Mommy," he said as he pointed at the tv.

She laughed lightly and checked the time before nodding, "Alright we will finish this then it's time for bed."

Kendall scooted over to me and I wrapped one arm around her as I held a sleeping Lily in my other arm. James rested himself against Kendall's chest as he watched the tv. I softly kissed my wife's head as we all relaxed on the couch together. My life really was complete.

This was my greatest adventure.
