My eyes slowly started to open but I regretted every flutter of my eyelashes. I felt pain coursing through my chest and my head. The first thing I saw was a white ceiling that I didn't recognize. I looked to my left and I saw an IV bag as well as its needle going into my arm. I noticed how my upper arms and torso were completely wrapped and bandaged. I moved my head back down and tried moving my fingers until I felt I was holding something in my right hand.

I raised my eyebrows and looked down to see Kendall with her head on my bed asleep. I smiled softly until I saw a little boy laying in a hospital bed behind her. I immediately recognized that little boy and panic ran through me.

"Bodhi, Bodhi, Bodhi," I started saying getting louder and louder each time.

Kendall's head instantly shot up at the sound of my voice and her hands went to my face. She started rubbing it soothingly, trying to calm me down, "Shhh, Y/N it's okay. He's okay. He's just sleeping right now. Baby lay back down so we can talk."

I nodded slowly as I laid back down. Kendall pressed a button on my bed and a nurse came in a few seconds later.

"It's good to see you're finally awake, Y/N. You had us all worried. Your fiancé here was especially worried. You got yourself a keeper here,"

I just smiled at the nurse until she turned her back to put more pain medication into my IV. I raised my eyebrow at Kendall and she just gave me an 'I'll tell you later' look. When the nurse finished and walked out I was already starting to feel better.

I closed my eyes briefly to enjoy the moments of being in a little less pain but when I opened them, Kendall was staring at me.

"What?" I asked.

She shrugged, "I just wasn't sure if I would ever get to hear you again or see you smile. I had to tell them that we were engaged just so they would let me in. They said only family was allowed in. Luckily you never changed my contact name in your phone from the day we first kissed."

I chuckled lightly, "I'm glad you're here. You're the best thing to wake up to. Speaking of, How long have I been out?"

"We've been here for about three hours now."

I nodded as I lifted up her hand and kissed it, "So Kenny, do you know what happened or at least what's going on? The last thing I remember was grabbing on to Bodhi and the car flipping."

Kendall nodded and bit her lip, "Well we got a call saying that you had been hit by a drunk driver on the freeway so I rushed over as soon as I could. My car could still be on the freeway for all I know. When I got there, they were trying to get all three of you out of the car. Oh God, Y/N there was so much blood on you. You weren't moving and I couldn't tell if you were breathing..." Kendall started tearing up and a few tears fell but I quickly wiped them away.

She continued, "They had the ambulances there ready for when you guys were out and you all had to go separately. I had to think of what you would want me to do. You would have wanted me to go with Bodhi so I did. He was the only one who was conscious after the wreck. He told me how you moved around him and protected him. The doctors said you probably saved his life. It was a miracle that he escaped with just a broken arm. When you covered him, all the shards of glass cut into your arms, back, and face. The car door nearly crushed your side and broke a few of your ribs. They said you were lucky that you didn't puncture a lung."

I nodded slowly as I took everything in. I looked once more around the room but it was only us three.

"So where's my mom?" I asked.

Kendall started chewing on the inside of her cheek and looked away for a few seconds.

"Kendall, where's my mom?" I said more sternly.
