The sun and moon chase each other down
Across the wave of pedestrians fear is abound
They always let me know my rightful place
And roughly shove the cold concrete to my face
The soothing kiss of a petal leaves a mark
As I'm reaching for you, my veins feel a spark

Suddenly, the whole world shackles to my feet
Demons arise within the desolate human heap
Glitters across the pitch-black night
Are plucked by my fingers exposing bleak light
Through my grin, the red gushes out
The joyous taste of sin stains my mouth

My stormy past hurled me into a beast
Failure struck, consuming my body like a feast
Beneath my skin, I bare a hellish creature
Untamed, I struggle to conceal this feature
Each day, my eyes thirst for other's sorrow
And these hands dream to crush bones so hollow

I beg of you to extinguish me or I'll be in rage
No longer could I keep myself in this frail cage
But you fear to come near, leaving me behind
Agony singes me, the beast's silhouette now define
Its claws tear through the bars of my flesh
Then escapes, beholding the truth I can't confess

A/N: Man, I feel like this is the darkest poem I've written, yet. :'( But it's a lot more on the sad side than dark.
