Its May, 24...Mother's days. I hate this day, and it's the second mother's day I've spent without my son. He'll be 2 in October and he still hasn't seen me since he was 2 months. I miss him dearly. But I really just hope this horrible day goes by fast.
"Goodmorning Babe" she brings me a cup of coffee
"Thanks, what time are you leaving? I sip the mug
"In 20 minutes"
"Oh...what time you get off?
"Around 6:30"
"Oh"
"Sorry, I'm going to work...but its not like I have anything planned for mother's day"
"Yeah...I'm a just call my mom and maybe watch the baby channel"
(and cry)
"Tell her I said Hi, when you do. But let me go take my shower"
"Okay baby" I watch her walk out
*12:53 pm*
Chris leaves for work, leaving me in the house by myself. I walk down the steps and into the living room, sitting down on the sofa. I turn on the TV and dial my mom's number.
"Hey honey" she answers
"Happy Mother's Day" I say happily
"Thank you honey, how are you?
"I'm good...it's just that day again"
"Yeah. Still no luck?
"Nope"
"You'll see him again tyler, they can't keep this up"
"I know. I just really wanna be in his life. It sucks"
"It will be okay"
"Yeah...but what are you doing today?
"Well Mr. Darren and I are going to a comedy show and then he's taking me to a restaurant"
"That sounds nice"
"Yeah, Are you doing anything?
"No. I'm a just cry my eyes out until Chris's gets home"
"She doesn't go see her mom?
"No. She doesn't know her mom sadly"
"Awww poor baby"
"Yeah, but her grandmother raised her, so she called her as soon as she woke up this morning"
"Oh okay that's sweet"
"Yeah. I um...I love her mom"
"Oh. Really? I thought you were a player"
I laugh. "Nah, she changed that. I really don't want anyone else but her and that's crazy to me. Because back in Chicago, I never wanted to be tied down. Not even with Jamal. Maybe I'm just getting older"
"No..I think you two have true love. That you went back to her, and you both changed one another"
"I'm so happy with her...even when we fight, I'm still just happy to talk it out later"
"So is she your girlfriend?
"Yes. Oh and she wanted me to tell you she said Hi"
"Tell her I said wassup back"
I laugh. "You outta line"
"But I can stay in the lines" she laughs
