We knew the original Sailor Moon began with Usagi Tsukino, who was the model for all popular magical girl series in existence.
Unfortunately, this was so overused that it is not "cute" or "funny" anymore. It's annoying now.
How to Improve
-Make the protagonist other than Japanese (if your setting allows so)
-Don't add "klutz", "ditz", to her flaws. Those are really petty flaws. Give them actual flaws.
-Change the setting. Some are tired of the Japanese junior school setting.
-If you insist on making a klutz character, do so but in a support/minor-role character.
-Don't make her an airhead. It's okay if your character is not good at some subjects, but all of them?
