Both you and Rigby wanted a pet. You just couldn't get one with both of you living at the park. So sense seen as you now have your own place you and Rigby decide on getting a puppy.

Since you moved in with Mordecai you though why not get a pet. You didn't know if mordecai wanted a pet or not. So you asked him and he said sure. So here you were with your new pet cat.

Benson
Benson wasn't big on pets. But you wanted one. He didn't want to bother with a pet. You knew he got stressed though a pet would help so you convinced him to let you get a pet.

Skips
You were fascinated with animals. Skips not so much. So after you convinced him to let you get a pet. So that's what you did, you got a pet frog.

You and Thomas both wanted a pet. And since you both live together now you both decide to get a pet so you both got a dog.
