Obito is really great with kids as he can be both playful and protective when Kakashi's seriously terrible. It's not that he hates them or anything but he has a attitude thanks to what he treats them as adults, thinking that they're mature and smart enough to take care of themselves and not do potentially deadly things as he matured in very young age.
He couldn't be more wrong.
