All Mine
01 | New start

There I stood looking at the worn out iron gates of my new college, hoping for a new start—to get away from my old life and it was as if things were already falling into place for me. I pushed open the gates walking through the crowds that were gathered outside the main entrance where the office was situated, I walked to a small table where campus officials were sat signing people in and handing them sheets of paper. I waited my turn until they ticked my name off and handed me my sheets and my dorm room key.

I looked at the pages seeing my class schedules, dorm room and classrooms typed all over it. I was placed in dorm room 264, following the arrows indicating what rooms were in what corridors I follow the one written with '250-270' and started my walk down the deserted hallway, it felt like I had been walking for ages until I finally stumbled upon the room reaching for my key to open the door, I dropped my sheets and they went flying across the hall—perfect just perfect. I picked the majority of the sheets up before I went to reach for the last one when I bumped into a hard surface.

"Watch where you're going will you?" A deep voice resonated through the hall, I instantly knew I recognised the voice but I couldn't pin who it was. I looked up seeing the one and only, Antoine Griezmann—the Frenchman who managed to make my high school experience a living hell.

"What the hell are you doing here? Don't tell me you're going to this school as well." Bless him for being so stupid, what other reason would I have for standing in an empty college hallway?

"You'd be pleased to know I actually am." I smiled widely just to anger him even more, he rolled his eyes at me.

"Why do you always have to ruin everything, Amelia?" He said as my name rolled off his tongue as if it's the most disgusting thing ever.

"That's funny coming from you." I scoffed

He seemed annoyed at this point to which he just walked away from me, I watched as he disappeared out my sight. I sighed picking up my last sheet before grabbing my key and entering the bedroom.

Antoine absolutely annoyed the hell out of me, everyday in high school he'd find some sort of way to push all the right buttons. I ended up punching him once because I was just so sick of him, he had a nose bleed and stopped annoying me for only a day and got right back into it. Him and the monkeys trailing behind him were always following me around the school constantly making me want to just dig a hole and hide for all of eternity.

Some days when I didn't have Antoine and his monkeys trailing behind I always suspected they were up to something like tampering with my locker so I couldn't get into it or finding my bag and ripping my homework. I always had such crazy thoughts, yet they were never wrong. Ninety nine percent of the time I was always right and he'd end up doing one of those things, just when I thought I'd escaped him he turns up at the same college.

Eventually I looked around my room seeing two empty beds, I assumed no one else was going to be in the room so I dumped my bags onto the empty bed on the left side of the room. Most of my items were already here in boxes sprawled across the floor with my items from home, I missed being at home with all my friends. I lived under forty-five minutes away from London and I missed everything, but this is good for me, starting this new life. I sat on the bed I claimed mine and looked at the surroundings, there was a small window above my bed and towards my left there was a door leading to a bathroom—thank the heavens I get my own bathroom.

I grabbed my phone instantly calling my mom letting her know I'd made it safely to the college and had settled into my room, she was glad to know I was settling in okay. I ended the call after a good half and hour catching up with my mom before I decided to start unpacking some of the things, I placed my photos on my drawer and all my items of clothing in their respective draws before deciding I'd had enough of unpacking. I crashed on top of my bed before closing my eyes and allowing the sleep to engulf me.
