Chapter 12

Nicki
"Where are we?" I asked seeing that we had been driving for awhile and papi was now sleeping in the backseat

"Up north." I nodded laying back in the seat

It was quiet. Nothing was heard but the radio playing lowly. I was slowly dozing back off to sleep.

"Shit." I heard meek mumble looking in his mirror  "police behind us,"

"What?!" I asked breathing hard at it coming unexpectedly "oh shit!" I said seeing the red , white , and blue lights flashing in the rear view mirror

I looked behind us and indeed there was a police car with the same police men that we saw back at the restaurant.

"Pull your vehicle over now!" We heard a loud voice come from the Police car

"Go! Go! Go!" I yelled and meek pushed down on the gas.

"Rihmeek whatever you do,don't stop this fucking car!" I yelled

He heard me talking but all his focus was on driving the car.

"There's more coming! meek!" I yelled looking back again seeing more police cars chasing after us

"Put papi in a seatbelt Nicki!" He yelled as he swerved around the Cars that were driving to slow for our liking "I'm not finna have my son hurt!"

I sighed , pulling the seatbelt I locked it hearing the click. I pulled at it making sure he was secure. I looked out the back window seeing they were still on our asses.

"We're WAIST DEEP  in this shit now." I mumbled to myself as I turned back around

"Put him In a seat belt!"  He told me again

"He's in a fucking seatbelt!"

There was now a helicopter flying above us and about 6 cop cars behind us.

"Keep going meek, Go!" I yelled

"Hold on!" He swerved the car trying to shake them

"I hope they don't shoot at this car with you and my son in here." He breathed out

"They can't do that." I told him calmly

"Why not? They can do anything with those fucking badges," he speed up

"No, they can't fire at a moving vehicle, after what recently happened to that man."

"Fuck that.. I ain't taking no chances what so ever. They won't give a shit about us if a bullet go through us soo.."

Meek faked a turn I gasped seeing he fooled the cop making the flashing car go head first into a poll that sat on the curb.

I looked at meek then back at the car seeing the first car made the second car wreck out with it.

We were now yelling , not at each other really ,  we were being loud enough so we could hear eachother over the sirens and helicopters. Cars were swerving left & right to get out the way causing more commotion.

Meek was avoiding hitting other cars so they wouldn't slow us down even more.

Meek pulled into a Car parking lot. "I think we're losing them." I breathed out

He parked the car next to another one and hopped out

"Get my son."

"Meek what are you doing?!!" He ignored me grabbing a slid hammer out of the trunk

I shook papi waking him up. "Get up sweetie," I said as he wiped his eyes and looked around confusedly

Meek walked over to a Car and Hot boxed it getting it to start

"The Fuck are you doing?" I Asked as he moved fast

"We gotta split up." He simply said picking up the notepad that was sitting in the passenger seat of the car

"Take papi and the money South! We're north now so head south, I'll meet up with y'all later " He said

"No." I shook my head

"Papi get in the front seat!" Meek yelled out at papi

"You're not leaving us!" I yelled as tears rolled down my cheeks

"Look nika, there's no time to argue, Just do as I say! When I pull out of here the police are gonna follow me , They catch us they're gonna take my son away from me. I'm not having that!" He yelled walking towards the car that Papi was in

"I'm about to go some place, but I'm coming back for you. I just need you to watch over miss nicki while I'm gone ok?" he looked me dead in my eyes and The only thing I could see was hurt

"No." He said shaking his head

"Papi, just trust me"

"You promise you'll come back for us?" He asked as a tear rolled down his cheek

"I promise, you're a chaser so you got to be brave man, ok?" He nodded wiping his tear

"Love you dad." He hugged me

"I love you too." I said closing His door walking over to a Crying Nicki

"Stop it baby." I wiped her tears

"Rihmeek I don't want you to leave us." She sniffled

"Call me, if I don't hear from you in ten minutes I'm coming back for you."

"You don't have to do this." She looked down

"Just take care of my son," I heard myself getting choked up

"With all my heart." She looked up at me

I still heard all the sirens and the helicopter flying around outside

I brought her into a tight hug kissing her soft lips , Something  was telling me this will be our last kiss But I had to remember my promise. Pulling away from the hug, I took the gold chain from around my neck giving it to her

"Now get out of here" I said as she just stood there

"now , Go!!!" I ran to my car not wanting to look back at there sad faces.
