PAN'S P.O.V
__________
As I rubbed my eyes and was about to get up from my bed to fix myself a midnight snack, I heard hushed voices coming from outside my room.
"Why do we have to go through the trouble of moving anyway? I'll be graduating in a year so it's pointless." I heard my sister complain from the other side of my door, as I perceived more noises like the shuffling of boxes and other items being moved.
"It's because you're graduating in less than a year that makes it so important for you to come with us, Ariel. Once you finish high school you'll be able to easily get through the entrance exam at the college we have in plan for you to attend." My Grandpa said, as there was then a creak on my door, indicating that he was now leaning against it.
After a minute of silence, I caught Ariel's voice again in the midst of all the racket.
"Yeah, okay I guess that makes sense." She said in what seemed to be a slightly annoyed tone.
"Oh and thanks again, for helping us out even though you have work, Gramps."
"Don't worry about it, and while you guys are doing this, why don't you wake up that kid in there to help you too?" Grandpa said, doing a small knock on the door frame.
I suddenly grew excited as I got my hopes up for them to call me over to join them for the first time in what felt like forever.
"No, we can't do that!" my sister hissed.
All at once, I felt despair fill me yet again, only to stay sitting there on my bed, feeling isolated as I continued to listen to my family's conversation in silence.
"Eh?? And why can't we?"
"..I'm worried about him. He's always been quiet when he was a kid, but ever since we visited our cousins for summer two years ago, he hasn't spoken a word. We've tried to take him to some doctors and other people we thought that could help to see if anything happened to him, but they all would just say that nothing was wrong with him. I'm not sure what to do, but I just don't want to be too pushy and make things worse by making him do stuff he doesn't want to do." Ariel said as the tone of her voice got softer.
That's not true, Ariel! I want to help you guys! I mentally screamed.
"...I guess we can leave him alone for a bit. But maybe you guys should just try talking to him. You say you're trying to not push him around too much, but how about just interacting with him more? Maybe Pan is just like that because he's going through a phase or something, or maybe he's just lonely and needs someone to be with? Indirectly making Pan avoid doing stuff is what makes the situation worse, you know." He replied with a sigh.
Once again, Gramps was able to light my mood up as bright as the morning sun. I became immediately overjoyed and was getting so liberated from his last reply that I jumped off from my bed as quietly as I could while performing a little dance. I was feeling so ecstatic at that moment!
..That is, until I accidently bumped into the lamp that was on my wardrobe and made it fall off. The happy moment is over. crap.
There was an instant moment where everyone was speechless, and the only noises you could still hear were those of other feet walking around and moving items.
"Pan..?" Ariel questioned hesitantly, as there was yet another moment of awkward silence that passed by.
I clumsily scurried back into my bed, while making it look like I made the lamp fall off, during my sleep.
