Lance's POV
Fear washes over me as I remember that I am indeed leaving soon. "You need to start packing because you'll be traveling for at least a year, staying there for three and then returning." The principle tells me, which makes my stomach turn. What if I never see Keith again?
"Who's all going with me?" I ask. The principal pulls out a list of names and starts reading them off.
"Kat, Luca, Markus, Gemma..." He rambles off names but Keith's never comes out of his mouth.
"Why not Keith from sector 6?" He looks at me funny but just smiles back.
"Because, well." He looks at the list again. "To be honest I'm not sure. Maybe next time." He acts like it isn't even a big deal. "Can he join us? He's an amazing navigator! Oh, and Pidge Shiro and Hunk from sector 6 too!" I beg.
"I can't, what about the other students?" He makes a good point,
"Please? I won't go without my crew." I hold my ground. The principal sighs in defeat.
"I'll see what I can do."
I leave the office and walk down to my class; I sit down next to Keith. He looks at me and smiles which makes me feel worse. I fake smile as best as I can and work through the rest of class.
Keith's POV
Lance has been very quiet since he came back from the office.
"What's wrong?" I ask him. He looks at me sadly and sighs.
"I'm going to Arus soon, and I won't be back for a while." My stomach turns and I feel light headed.
"What?"
"I asked if you and everyone could come with me," lances words start to blur and become muffled. I feel dizzy then everything goes black.
