Max wakes up to another day. He pretty much gets up and does everything he needs to do then puts on a sash and puts his gun in it. He heads out to go get breakfast and enters a diner.
Max:Hey betsy, you know why im here
Betsy:Of course the usual, right?
Max: yeah
She goes to the back to get a mug and pours some coffee and gives it to max. Max takes the cup and starts drinking it.
Betsy:you know, i never understood why you dont put sugar in your coffee
Max:i have all the energy i need, so i think sugar would over do it, you know what i mean?
Betsy:i never know what you mean....
She gives a slight smirk and walks away. The tv is playing the news and max listens in.
Tv:another case of the "dreameater" is going on again, too many deaths have been happening ever since this "game" has started
Betsy:ever know why they call it dreameater?
Max:n-no, no i dont-
Betsy:it was a rhetorical question, they call it dreameater because they say once youre inside, it eats your dreams until all thats left is you, and if you ever were to sleep in dreameter after that happens, lets just say you wont wake up.......EVER
Max stays quiet
Max:how do you know all this?
Betsy:lets just say im not the only one studying late at night
Max looks at her and they stay serious for a while then they both laugh
Max:you know i really needed a laugh
Betsy:well youre welcome, youre lucky i dont charge for that
Max smiles and leaves a tip then walks back to his house. He starts to rustle through some papers and then he looks at a picture of a women. A name starts racing in his head over and over. "Sandra Harrison, Sandra Harrison." That night couldnt have been an accident. Someone peacefully sleeping cant just die with no sighns of poisin or any type of sickness in her body. These rumors about the dreameater cant be true, but its the only evidence max has. Theres a knock on the door. Max gets up and gets it.
Hellen:lunch is served!
Max:well its 11:59 soooo...
Hellen: you are such a goofball, ever since we were little
Max: anything to annoy my sister
Hellen: hey im older so respect me
Max: by what like a minute?
Hellen: hey even if it was a second, that still makes me older
Max: too'che
She sets the food on a table in the kitchen
Hellen: so hows work?
Max: you tell me
Hellen looks around and then smiles at him
Hellen: good?
Max looks at her than shakes his head
Max: you always try to be optimistic
He goes back to the papers
Hellen: oh come on max, we barely hang out anymore ever since this stupid dreameater
Max: hey i told you tha-
Hellen: that the dreameater is just a rumor, yeah i know, but this rumor is getting in the way of our family time
Max: we are our only family, but i have to do this job
Hellen: just this once eat with me, then ill never bother you again
Max lets out a sigh
Max: ok just this once, but then you let me work ok?
Hellen: deal
They sit down and start eating. They talk for a while until its night time. Hellen gets up and gives max a hug then walks out. Max goes to his bed and then his eyes get heavy. He goes to sleep then heares a voice in his head
Voice: max? Max?! Can you hear me? This is an emergency wheather you can here me or not
Max: who is this? What is this? I cant see anything
Voice: max, youre awake, well..... not really, but you can hear me, i need you too listen but quickly, you are about to enter the dreameater
Max: the what?! No its not real
Voice: oh but it is, and youre about to enter in approximately 5 minutes
Max: no, but i cant wake up!!! Why cant i wake up!?!?
Voice: i dont know, that depends on what you did or ate or drank, but hear me out, i need you to stay alive, the dreameater isnt a place where you die peacefully, there are more people in the same "dream"
Max: wait what?!?! Can i at least get a way to defend myself?!!!
Voice: you will, and ill give you a hint, when you were a kid what power did you want badly?
Max: what type of hint is that im a grown man! that was a long time ago and with all the stuff i have too-
He sees light than hes in a city. Max looks around and peoole are walking by him. Everything looks normal. A guy bumps into him
Guy: im so sorry im in a rush
He keeps walking. Max has a confused face
Dreameater:(robotic voice) hello, i am the dreameater, if you are currently hearing this message that means you are in the dreameater along with a few other people, the rules are survive until your body wakes up. You have 12 hours until your body wakes up. Anything can happen, from casualties or bumping into another dreamer. Dont worry youll know when you bump into one. Good luck, and keep dreaming.
Max starts panicking then he calms down and thinks. He remembers when the voice told him that the power he wanted badly as a kid is his defense. He thinks and thought it was flight but he didnt go up. He thought it was strength but couldnt lift 350 without breaking a sweat. He thinks then he remembers when he was a kid
(Flashback)
Hellen: max wait up! I dont know how you can run like this
Max: sis dont you know? I have so much energy i have lightning powers
Hellen: id believe you, but only if i see it
She keeps running and max tags behind her laughing
(Flashback end)
Max thinks then looks at his and concentrates. Nothing happens then he focuses harder, and then all of a sudden a spark go's through his hand
