The weird one
The nerdy one
The girl no one wants

That's just a few of the things I've been called. Ever since I was a kid people have laughed and made jokes about me. I've still never figured out why.

But this is my chance. My chance to change the way people think of me. A way to be myself and not be judged.

A new school, a new me. Not "that weird girl with the blonde hair and red lips"

The car came to a stop and I looked out the window to my brand new school. It was way smaller then my old school but in a way it made me feel more comfortable. There where tons of beautiful trees with yellow and orange leaves all over the front of the school. I already knew that this was going to be special.

I awoke from my day dream with my brother poking me in my side.

"Helllooo" he said looking annoyed. Probably because I haven't been paying him much attention the whole car ride.

"What?" I said as I grabbed my bag from the back seat of the car.

"Are you nervous?" He asked acting calm and laid-back like he always does. Sometimes I wonder how he can be my twin when we are literally the definition of opposites.

"A little" I said looking back out the window. "but I have a feeling that this place is special"

He looked at me with sympathy, probably remembering why we had to move in the first place. I knew he had to miss his friends and it made me feel bad thinking that I'm the reason he had to leave them all behind. "Just be yourself and it will all work out, this is your chance for a new beginning" He always knew what to say to make me feel better.

"We should go inside before where late" I said opening the car door and stepping out.

I stood up and took in a deep breath of the fall sent. The light breeze blew my platinum blonde hair to the side. It was so beautiful it almost made me feel calm.

My brother came and stood beside me as we walked into our new school. People's heads turned as we walked by. It almost felt as if we where famous. It made me self conscious. I felt like I was about to do something stupid and already embarrass myself. But I kept my head high and thought of only the positive.

Me and warren finally made it to the principals office and I felt calm for the first time in what felt like hours.

We went up the the lady sitting at he front desk and told her we where new students.
She had brown hair and dark brown eyes and she looked like she was in her late 30's.

"Can I get y'alls names?" She said with a thick southern accent. I had never heard anybody talk like that in real life, it was almost comical.

Warren ,being the social one, spoke up and said "Warren and April Cain"

"Just give me one second and I'll have y'alls schedules all printed" she said with a smile. She roles her chair away from the desk and to the printer and grabbed two small pieces of paper. "Here you two go, I hope you have an amazing first day and if you need anything just let me know"

I looked down at my schedule 'okay I have math, Science, English, lunch, free period, art, and computer technology' I thought to myself as I walked to my very first class.

Warren grabbed my schedule and started reading it. "We don't have any classes together" he said looking sad. Ever since we moved he watched my every move and made sure no one messed with me like they did in our old town.
