It was the last week of school. I put on a pair of shorts and a plain black t-shirt. I curled my hair, even though I know no one really looks at me.

I walked into homeroom and took a seat next to a shy girl named Kaya. That's when I caught a boy named Jacob looking at me. I shrugged it off.

I had liked Jacob for a while, but his friends laugh when I try to talk to him. Him and Hannah already have a thing going anyway.

I guess it's just not meant to be...
