You had woken up in snow. That's the first thing you remember. You blinked your eyes for a few times and sat up. The time was impossible to tell. You stand up, some snow melting as the rest fell off.
You began walking forward, noticing an already broken twig. In the distance, you can hear voices. You tried to remember what had happened previously. A foggy memory came up. You had met a sad goat lady. You tried to comfort her, but she shook her head. Anything before or after that was blank.
You pass by a bridge with bars too wide to stop anyone. You continued forward until you see a sentry post. Their was also a weird shaped lamp that could have taken the form of a being. You look behind the sentry post and was surprised to find condiments.
You shrugged and as you continue walking forward, you see many puzzles that had been either done or broken. Soon enough, you came across a place known as Snowdin. You head inside the shop. Seeing monsters did not really shock you, considering you had this comforting feeling when you're around them. There was food being sold for some gold. Unfortunately you didn't have any, so you left the shop. You saw an inn, but the cost was probably a lot more than the food. You decided to head forward. The faster you walk, the faster you might eat something.
You came across a foggy area and saw two beings in what seems to be a fight. It was a child and a skeleton. The child seemed to be flirting and you smiled.
You see a golden flower beside you. It seemed to be facing the monster and the child. As soon as the flower realized you were staring, it disappeared into the ground. You couldn't remember if that was normal.
Before you knew it, the small child tugged at your shirt. You looked down and turn your head to the side. The skeleton had taken off his scarf and offered it to you. You were shivering.
"I couldn't ask for that, I'm fine, believe me," You say, but your words came out quietly.
"HUMAN NUMBER TWO, I SUGGEST YOU STAY AT MY HOUSE UNTIL WE MANAGE TO GET YOU SOME SUITABLE CLOTHING TO TRAVEL." The skeleton offered.
"But you don't know who I am," You sighed, though it would be nice to not freeze to death. You had a feeling that there was a reason you needed to get out.
"ITS ALRIGHT, I INSIST." He wrapped the scarf around your neck, ever so gently, and guided you to his house. The house was one you were familiar with, but you can't seem to remember if you've been there before. He told you his name was Papyrus. You and the child who you came to know as Frisk sat on the couch. The scarf he allowed you to borrow smelled sweet, which caused you to get a little sleepy, closing your eyes.
~An Hour or so Later~
You opened your eyes at the sound of something crashing. You opened your eyes and ran to where you hears the sound, sleepily. You see Papyrus and another skeleton standing, Papyrus cooking what seemed to be spaghetti. Both Papyrus and the smaller skeleton stared at you. Papyrus smiled, or as it seemed, and returned to his business. As for the smaller skeleton, he seemed to be looking at you as if he were familiar, but attempted to cover it up and waved.
He introduced himself to be sans.
"Sans and Papyrus, huh?" You asked, your voice still sounding quiet. You heard these names before. You felt like you knew Frisk, the town, the fuzzy memory of the goat lady.
"YOU NEVER TOLD ME YOUR NAME, HUMAN NUMBER TWO! IT WILL GET QUITE CONFUSING IF I CALLED YOU BOTH HUMAN, SO WHAT IS IT?" Papyrus asked, stirring the spaghetti together with some of the sauce.
"I honestly wish I remembered, unfortunately, I had woken up with only a fuzzy memory of being inside the place with the locked doors." You shrugged and sighed.
*i will call you y/n. y/n seems to fit you.
"Y/n? I like it," You smiled. It did feel right. It felt like that was your name.
"WELL, Y/N, I HOPE YOU LIKE SPAGHETTI! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, AM A VERY EXCELLENT COOK!" Papyrus said.
I nodded and unwrapped the scarf. I gave it back to him, allowing it to complete his uniform. He seemed grateful. As for sans, he stared at you for a long period of time. You pretended to not notice it and headed off to the couch.
*ah, y/n, kiddo, ya two willing to stay the night?
Frisk looked at me. I shrugged. Why not? I told him I might as well, since I don't have anywhere to stay. As for Frisk, they wanted to stay with me. So we both stayed over, eating the almost edible spaghetti and sleeping on the couch.
As the next few months passed, you gained few memories back. Most didn't make sense, nor matched the starting memory. You'd have this memory of other people that everyone didn't seem to recognize. Frisk had long freed the underground and everyone moved to the surface. You still lived with sans and Papyrus, regaining my memories. You came deeply close with the two, especially sans. He smiled a lot more whenever you were talking to him.
Often though, you had these dreams. They were weird, and seemed connected to a face. His name, as mentioned in your memory, was Gaster. He was a scientist. In your dreams, you were a part of some type of project to free the underground. You saw the goat lady, who you eventually knew as Toriel, and a goat man, who was known as Asgore, both being the rulers of the underground. They seemed to go through with whatever he was doing to you. For some odd reason, you felt okay with the project, as if you offered to go through with it.
In the dream, you saw sans and Papyrus. It often switch to you and sans being close whenever something that made you scream. Every time you woke up, sans was always cuddling you, holding you, as if to protect you. As if he heard those screams. You knew you seemed to have consent with whatever had happened, but why? Why'd you accept?
*are you okay? its the middle of the night and you don't usually wake up around this time. what did you see?
It was the final clue that made the whole thing come together.
