CHAPTER 12: THE PLAN

I was in the infirmary with Shekra and Amanda, I was laying down on the bed being treated by a nurse. Amanda waa sitting in a chair beside me while Shekra stood at the side of the bed watching me. "I don't get it, why would Steve attack you like that?" Shekra asked. I just shrugged my shoulders "I don't know" I answered, "maybe he was jealous" Amanda suggested. I looked at her and seen she was wasn't wearing any rags, she had a tank top and some blue jeans. "Where'd you get those clothes?" I asked, "the military provided me with some, do you like it?" she said. "Well it's different" I answered. Shekra smiled "well I think she's beautiful baby" she said, suddenly the door flew open and Martin came running in

"He's gone, Steve's gone!" he said, Shekra gasped "what do you mean he's gone?" she asked. "I mean he's disappeared, I was in the other infirmary with him, he didn't want to talk so I left for some juice in the cafeteria. When I came back he wasn't there, I looked everwhere for him but I couldn't find him" he said. Amanda got up to her feet "did he say anything at all?" she asked as she walked up to him. Martin put his hand over his chin and thought for a second "yeah, he mumbled something under his breathe before I left" he replied. "What was it?" Shekra asked. "I don't know, I think something about the truth and the Kurt". I honestly wasn't worried about him, if he wanted to run away like a little girl that's his problem.

The general had stepped into the room behind Martin "good fight Zack, but I have something very important to tell you all, will you follow me into my office?" he asked. I sat up and got off the bed. "What's the problem?" I answered, Shekra grabbed my shoulder "baby, Steve is missing, we need to find him" she was on the verge of tears. I looked her in the eyes "listen, the general has something very important to say, if Steve decided to leave he'll be back, hes a grown man". "But-" Shekra was interrupted by the general clearing his throat. "Captain this is very important"

I walked away from Shekra and faced the general, "you have my full attention, what's the problem?" I asked. The general looked around than back at me "you and your team follow me" he said as he walked out. We followed him back to his office, he took a seat at his desk. "I have grave news" he said, "yeah you keep saying that" Amanda said, "yeah get to the point" Martin chimed in. The general took in a deep breath, "we've intercepted information from the planet Grod, turns out the Kurt have a weapon of mass destruction" he started. "Is it a laser of some sort?" Amanda asked, "no, its a mind ray" the general answered. Shekra gasped and looked at me, a sense of dread and fear swelled into me.

"What are they planning to do with it?" I asked, the general gave me a serious look, "they're going to wipe the memorys of every person on earth clean, we wont know how to use our weapons and lose against any attack they'll throw at us" he said. There was a moment of silence "anyways, here's the plan" he continued, "the ray is being fixed on the planet pluto, it'll be done by tomorrow and will take another day to be transported to earth. So I'm going to send your team to go and destroy it on the planet pluto, I will have another team transport you there but that's all they'll be doing, any questions?". Another moment of silence "good, make your way to the hellapad, there's a ship waiting for you, dismissed" he finished.

We made our way out of the office and onto the hellapad where a huge ship was waiting for us. Soldiers in military fatigues were loading the ship with huge boxes full of supplies, "whoooaa, lets go" Amanda said stepping forward. I grabbed her arm stopping her in her tracks. "Sorry Amanda but you can't come" I said, she looked at me in confusion "what do you mean I can't come?" asked. I let go of her arm "it's way to dangerous and your not apart of the army" I told her. She pouted "well, you can't just leave me here, not when I can help" she complained

Martin stepped forward "I'll have to agree with captain Amanda, you have to stay" he said. Amanda looked at Shekra for help, "don't look at me, captains word is final" she said. Amanda pouted again and walked away, me and the rest walked aboard the ship where men in white jump suits were running around checking the ship. One of them was rushing by when he saw us he stopped in his tracks "umm, hey guys I'm captain Kroger, I'm busy at the moment just rest until we get to pluto, we got five rooms so make your self at home" than he rushed off. Shekra looked at me and smiled, "we're sharing a room" she command

She grabbed me by the arm and pulled me into one of the rooms, leaving Martin alone at the entrance. Later on that day I walked into the kitchen and grabbed an apple from the fridge. It was about time I had some human food for a change, as I made my way back to my room there was a loud BANG! In the supplies room. I took out my knife and pointed it in the direction of the supply room. The door swung open and I converted my knife to a full grown sword. I was ready to attack but that readiness went away soon as I seen Amanda step out. "Amanda?" I said, she looked at me and smiled, "hey Zack" she said back. I converted my sword back and put the knife in my pocket, "what are you doing here I told you not to come" I said with a stern voice.

She put her hands on her hip "well you're not my captain, I just snuck into one of the supply crates, to get here so if you dont like me being here take it up with someone who cares" she complained. I growled "fine you can stay, the rooms are over here" she smiled gave me a hug and ran off. That's when I realized I was going to have a lot of trouble on this mission.
