I woke up with a lake of drool, I felt weak and sluggish, I sat up and seen that Shekra wasn't by me. I got up from bed, it was as if the gravity was ten times stronger, I scretched my arms out and yawned. Than I remembered what happened the night before. I still can't believe I kissed Amanda last night, something tells me Shekra would kill me if she finds out. When Steve caught us he just went back into his room and locked the door, than I went straight to bed. Gosh I was so drunk, it probably was the liquor that made me do it. I went to the bathroom washed my face and mouth, and put my jacket on, than made my way out the door. Everyone already was in the dining room except Amanda. Martain was sitting at the table eatting some sort of meat while Steve was standing off to the side talking with Shekra.
Oh no, looks like I got some explaing to do, maybe I should just lie and say I was drunk. I walked over to the both of them and Shekra seen me coming and she...smiled? Hopefully that wasn't her crazy way of showing she was mad. She walked up to me and gave me a hug "good morning baby, you looked so peaceful asleep I decided to wake you up" she said. What a relief, looks like Steve didn't tell her, I put my arm around her and smiled "thank you" I said. She let me go and walked over to the fridge "come have breakfast, I'm sure your hungry" she said. "Later Shekra, I have to talk with Zack for a second" Steve said, he grabbed my shoulder and pulled me into the control room. He closed the door behind us than let me go. He didn't seem mad at all, in fact he looked to be having a good morning. That was until he pushed onto the floor, "whats the big idea!" I yelled. He grabbed me by my collar and picked me up "you know what the big idea is, why would you do that Zack, is that why you saved her, because you got tired of Shekra!?" he yelled. I pushed him off "no I saved Amanda because its the right thing to do"
"Really? Than why would you kiss her? And dont tell me you were drunk because thats a load of bull" he said. "Listen Steve, it was an accident, don't blow this out of proportion!" I yelled. Steve pointed his finger in my face "be glad I didn't tell her, I did it for her not for you, she's been thourgh enough bull and she doesn't need to know about your little mistake with that dirty slave" he told me. Anger shot into me like a speeding bullet, "you take that back, Amanda is no dirty slave!" I screamed. Steve got into my face "or else what?" he threatened, the anger grew inside me more, I could feel the weight of my knife in my pocket. I was itching to grab it, suddenly the door opened and Martain came in. "What's up guys, I just wanted to know what happened to all the liquor?" he asked, than a voice came from the controls at the front of the room. "This is military air space you are in, turn around, identify yourself, or get shot down" it was coming from a raido on the controls. Steve rushed over and spoke into it "yes, this is squad 34, serial number 112502"
There was a pause for a moment, than an answer "you are clear for landing" the man said from the other side. Steve took the ship off of autopilot and scowled at me, "we're not finished yet" he said, and I scowled back at him. "Whoa, the tension in here is pretty strong, Imma go talk to Shekra" Martain said as he walked out. I left too, I cant believe the nerve of Steve, he didn't have to act so rude. I marched into the kitchen and ran right into Amanda. She fell down on her bottom "ouch" she said, "oh, sorry Amanda, I didn't see you" I said as I helped her up. She looked at me and blushed "it's okay Zack", she looked even better today and I started feeling guilty. "Umm wheres Shekra and Martain?" I asked.
"There at the back of the ship talking about whether or not Donny died at the planet Grod" she said. "Oh okay", it got silent for awhile, "hey Zack, about last night-" "don't worry about it" I said interrupting her. Before she could respond I walked off "I gotta check on Martain and Shekra" I said as I walked away. I went to the back of the ship, that dent from when I flew in here and hit the wall was still there. Shekra and Martain were standing at the door talking about Donny. "Hey guys" I said as I made my way to them, "hey Zack, everything okay?" Martain asked. "Yes everything good" I answered, "ready to get out of this ship?" Shekra asked. I smiled at her, I wanted to erase what happened between me and Amanda last night, it wasn't fair to Shekra who was my true girlfriend. Maybe if I spend time with her my feelings for Amanda would go away, "only if your coming with me baby" I said giving her a hug.
"Aww baby" she said, she pulled me closer to her and kissed me, "get a room you too, people on this ship are still single you know" Martain complained. Shekra let me go and laughed "you can go for Amanda" she suggested. He chuckled and said "no, not my type". Suddenly the back door opened, we turned to see a man in military fatigues standing there. He was a tall man with blonde hair, "welcome squad 34, to our outpost" he said.
