Chapter One - One in a million (Bosson)
In the beginning I was cool and everything was possible
They tried to catch me but it was impossible
No one could hurt me it was my game
Until I met you baby and you were the same
"I can't believe you cooked this, again!"
"Hey! It's not my fault if I can only cook spaghetti Bolognese. And since you refuse to cook, so help me." I listened to boys complaining. The sound was so familiar; I had grown accustomed to it, and eventually learned to tune it out.
"And what the hell is this?" Shot complained, picking out what appeared to be some type of vegetable from his plate.
"Broccoli?" Fox said.
"Or maybe, spinach?" His twin, Knox, added.
"Actually, scrap that. I bet cha its bok choy. You know, that icky green stuff we find in our fried rice when we get Chinese takeout." Fox rallied back.
"Shut up! It's asparagus you idiots. Cooked to perfection it is, too. So you boys better shut yer traps and eat up before I pound your heads in." Bullet, the cook, snapped. There was silence for a few blissful minutes.
"Who even puts asparagus in spaghetti?" Shot muttered quietly to himself.
"That's it!" Bullet yelled as he lunged at the terrified boy. Shot appeared to be paralyzed in fear, but at the last minute, he ducked to the left and grabbed the bulky man, dragging him to the ground in a fierce wrestle.
"Fight! Fight! Fight!" Fox and Knox chanted, pounding their fists in the air, crowding the 'epic' battle raging between them. The other boys in the room soon ran to join in.
"Ten bucks on Shot." Wolf called, backing his best friend.
"Oh you're on. Bullet will win, hands down." Bullets best friend, Echo, replied in his thick French accent. The two men grinned at each other. Wolf threw himself at Echo, putting him in a powerful headlock, and soon the two were wrestling on the ground next to their best friends.
"Fight! Fight! Fight!" The two twins continued to cry in unison. I crushed my eyes shut, trying to pretend I was somewhere else, anywhere else. Finally, I blinked my eyes open again, having no success at blocking things out.
"Shut up." I hissed. Instantly the room fell silent. The boys could usually tell when I was murderously angry, and now was one of those times. Having been around me for so long, they knew to stop what they were doing and do what I said when I was in such a mood before someone ended up getting hurt, badly.
"Sorry Flick." The boys mumbled, ducking their heads. Echo offered a hand to his fallen comrade, and Wolf gratefully took it.
"Please try to keep it down. You guys know what I am like when I'm angry."
"Yes Flick." They mumbled again. I stood up, hiding a smile at the crestfallen group of burly boys in front of me. The twins lifted their freckly faces up to looks at me, an adorable pout on their identical lips. When they pulled those faces, I couldn't help but give in to them, they just looked so damn heartbroken.
"I'll cook you something." I said, smiling. The entire group grinned at me, knowing they would be fed tonight.

"Smells SO good Flick." Wolf said, grinning, at me. I stood at the stove, stirring the pot of curry. The boys had massive appetites, I knew, and from experience, I learned a simple soup would leave them starving. And when these boys were hungry, they were angry, their tempers flaring up almost as fast as mine could normally.
