Everyday, it's the same
Staring back at me, the same old shape.
Her sunken empty eyes
With all lost of hope inside
Her constant frown adorned
No longer uplifting and warmBut today something changed
She looked a tad bit strange
Her eyes seemed a bit brighter
Her frown, a smile just a little bit wider
Recognition sunk in, and relief did too
As I remembered her, and how I've missed youI laughed in glee, and she laughed along
I haven't seen her in oh so long
A reflection, so simple, yet unforgiving
Forgave me today for the life I'm livingI haven't seen her in oh so long
But when I did, I felt like writing a song
Before I saw fragments, pieces, and many holes
For so long, I've forgotten what she looked like together and whole
I've forgotten her beauty, her smile, her face
I've forgotten her eyes, her lips, her words that were laced
With love, with hope that rid away fear
I can almost hear her now: I'm here, I'm here, I'm here
