She holds it in her hand,
clutching the string
like it was her lifeline.Running faster than light
with a giggle so full of glee.
It follows her on the lifeline,
bright,
beautiful,
glorious.Then she let g o,
and the balloon was free
from the grasp of her hand.
And we watched as it flew
to become a part of the sky so blue.The blue balloon
