He tells stories of the unknown.
Far away he'll go
with nothing he'll bring back
except for his stories.

Out of all the treasures he could've find,
out of all the things he could've brought,
he only brings back his tales.

I ask out of curiosity one day,
"Why do you bring back nothing
except for stories?"

With the quirk of an eyebrow,
and a small chuckle from his lips,
he pulls me closer
and begins to spin a tale of his own.

"I've been to places no one's ever been to.
I've sailed through all the seas.
I've seen sights no one's ever seen.
I've sailed past many infinities.

"I've tasted many flavors of the world.
I've felt adrenaline rush like never before.
I've done things people have never done.
I've done these things and more.

"So I bring back these stories,
but not to brag about where I've been oh no.
I bring back these tales to tell the world
and share my wonders from far and below."

He smiles at me
with his tale coming to an end.
I smile back at him
and he whispers to me again

"Now go on your own adventure.
See the world and wander.
But come back home to tell me
your tales of over yonder."
