Many years ago to appease the Celestail Gods the humans and mages worked together to start The Celestail Games. This please the gods including their leader the Celestail Spirit King. He ruled over the other gods protecting them and the humans. To make the games more enjoyable the Celestail Spirit King made a vow to let the members of the winning teams of every 10 years would be able to have their wishes granted. They only reason the Celestail Spirit King was so kind to the people was because his daughter lived among them and fell in love with a human.
She also had a baby daughter who looked just like her. The Celestail Spirit King was always worried for their lives. Worried that the Underworld King Mard Geer would find them and hurt or kill them. The young family related to the Celestail Spirit King was the Heartfilla's. Everyone knew their name as the Celestail King's daughter was kind to everyone she met. Everyone loved the Heartfilla's, always being kind to them. One family though was very close to the Heartfilla's they was known as the Dragneel's. Every games a Dragneel had lead the winning team.
The head of the family had 2 sons who both loved and cared for the Heartfilla daughter, always keeping her safe. The youngest of the Dragneel family who was only a year older then the Heartfilla daughter was extremely close to the Heartfilla daughter, always with her when he could be. Everyone knew that one day they would end up together. Sadly their happiness couldn't last forever. On the Heartfilla daughter's 15 birthday Mard Geer the Underworld King found the Heartfilla's home and killed the Celestail Spirit King's daughter and her caring husband.
The young Heartfilla daughter would of been of been killed also if it wasn't for the Dragneel's oldest son. He came just in time using his power to make Mard Geer think he had killed the Heartfilla daughter when in fact the Dragneel's oldest son took her to his home, explaining to his father what happened but sadly the next day was the games and the oldest son had to leave to join his team. The youngest Dragneel son vowed to protect the Heartfilla daughter no matter the cost and rarely left her side as she never left the Dragneel home.
After the news go to the Celestail Spirit King he turned the games deadly, blaming everyone for his families lost. The Dragneel's oldest son won the games but after going to visit the Celestail Spirit King to get his wish, he was never seen from again. Since then the youngest Dragneel trained everyday to become as strong as his older brother once was. To protect the one he fell in love with and to find out what happened to his older brother.....
Lucy Heartfilla's Pov,
It was my 24th birthday today. One more year until the next set of games. I knew Natsu's father already had a team who he would be leaving to meet soon. The rules stated that they could only meet one year before the games. "Lady Lucy, time to wake up" I heard Maid Spetto outside my door, knocking as I was just sitting at the window, staring out at the garden. 9 years ago today the worse thing of my life happened. Mard Geer happened. I heard the door opened as I wiped some tears. "Sorry I forgot to say Im up" I whispered turning my head to see Natsu.
