Finally Part 2 (Lucaya)

Chapter 1

A/N: Welcome back everyone. I waited a week to start this just to see everyone's reactions and I loved what I got, so here we go, let's get started.

Maya's POV

This was the last thing I needed tonight. Why is he randomly showing up to a high school New Year's Eve party? I don't get it. Can I not have a stress free holiday. I turned to Lucas and gave him a really tight hug so he knew I was scared and needed him. He kissed the top of my head lifted my chin and was staring at me directly in the eyes.

"Don't worry, everything will be okay." He smiled at me, but I could still see the rage in his eyes.

I could hear someone walking up behind me and I saw a facial expression change in Lucas' face.

"Um, Maya.. Can we talk?" It was josh. I didn't need to turn around to know. Lucas looked at me.

"I'll be okay. I'll make sure I'm still in visual view." Reassuring Lucas when he's angry isn't always the easiest thing.
"Are you sure?" He grabbed my hand and squeezed it.
"I'm sure Huckleberry. You'll know if I need you." I smiled at him.

I gave Lucas a quick kiss before I walked away. I swear if this is Josh's new way to apologize, I swear I'm going to scream. Josh took me to the bench that's by the door, where Lucas and I were originally sitting before he made his entrance.

"So you and the cowboy huh?" He smirked.
"What's that suppose to mean?" I snapped at him.
"I don't know I thought the Lucas thing was just a silly crush you had on him that went away." He was just looking at me.
"You don't know anything about me josh, nothing at all." Self defense is all I have at this point.
"That may be true, but I know the old Maya who used to jump on my back at the mere sight of me." He chuckled.
"And it's also the same Maya that you used as a human punching bag when you had too much to drink." If he wasn't holding back, well, either will I.
"I don't know how many times you want me to apologize. He was looking down now, at least I knew he felt guilty.
"There's nothing you can or ever could do that will make me stomach the mere sight of you." I was just ready for this conversation to be over.
"Is that really how you feel about me?" He had the most confused expression.
"Do you honestly think that I would be okay with someone who abused me, I don't trust you. I have everything I want in life except the part where you leave me alone." I glanced over to the sight of the party.
"No I guess not." He looked down at his hands.
"If you don't mind id like to get back to my boyfriend so we can go home." I looked at him dead in the eye.

He gestured for me to go back to Lucas and ran up go him and planted the biggest passionate kiss on him. I just needed to get away for a second and that worked.

Lucas and I decided to just go back to my apartment for the night and watch Netflix and it just be us. It's been a really long day and night. With all the drama tonight I almost forgot the biggest and brightest part of my day and that was finding out Lucas and I were going to be parents. I know it's going to be extremely tough, but together Lucas and I can do anything. I like knowing and trusting the trait in Lucas because he never lets me go through anything alone. He's my rock.

Lucas's POV

-Middle of the night 3:45am-

I woke up to Maya whimpering in my chest. She was obviously knocked out cold. I could see the wet stains of tears on her cheeks. I couldn't see her life this.

"Maya?" I took my hand and wiped her tears away and she slowly opened her eyes slightly startled.

"What were you dreaming about?" I placed my hand on her cheek.
"Nothing." She seemed a little off on her answer.
"Maya, don't tell me nothing, I know it's not nothing, I woke up to you crying in your sleep." I locked eyes with her so she knew I was serious.
"Tonight was just really scary for me and it brought back the memories from then." She was trying to look away, but I wouldn't let her.
"No one is ever going to hurt you, I wouldn't have let anyone hurt you or our baby." I smiled at her.
"I know Lucas. I just feel like I'm running around my fears over and over again. Josh has always been my fear. I'm always scared he'll do it whenever I see him. When I do see him, usually I get these awful nightmares of that night and it's always so real like it couldn't possibly be a dream. Being around him makes me feel like I'm suffocating-" she was ranting but I cut her off by kissing her.

"I don't ever want you to feel that way when you're with me." I smiled at her.
"Not ever." She smiled back.

After that she seemed to calm down and she snuggled back into my chest and slowly fell back to sleep, but this time she looked like she was at peace and nothing was attacking her.

Everything will be okay. We're Maya and Lucas. We can conquer the world together and that's how it is. Protecting her and our child is now my top obligation. After some time I drifted back to sleep soundly.
