When it all began, the day was sunny. The clouds were scarce and the streets of New York were just as busy as usual. Street vendors peddled their carts to passersby and, even though the aromas of grilled meat and warm bread made her stomach growl, Farrah politely declined as Zoey grabbed her wrist so they could catch up to their other coworkers.

At 5'2" (157.5cm), Farrah Rae Sykes, was the shortest of the team; if you asked her, 5'2" wasn't really all that short but whatever. Farrah wasn't at all unused to it; all of the men in her family were at least 6ft by the time they were fully grown and she kind of liked looking up at the world. Besides her, the team consisted of three other girls and six guys. She and Zoey Quinn, who was only taller than Farrah by an inch or so, had bonded over their perceived height deficiencies and had become close over the past month as they worked together in preparation of this very occasion; it helped that they got to keep each other company as they struggled to keep up while traveling the streets when the team went out for lunch or for some drinks.

Their team, consisting of ten fluent Korean speakers and one also fluent in Korean and American sign language, had been contracted by the producers of KCON to be a part of the massive team of translators and interpreters for this particular stop on their tour. Farrah had only  been with the company, Losrr Linguistics & Co., for a little over a year (much of which had been an internship) and she had already been able to help out at many amazing events, but this one was definitely at the very top of her list; if this wasn't considered 대박, Farrah didn't know what was.

When they reached the crosswalk opposite the venue, she took a moment to step back and relax herself. While the others joked and gushed about what was to come, Farrah reminded herself of how important it was that she remain professional; after all, this was only the orientation.

As someone who often got the opportunity to work with many very important people, Farrah always prided herself on her ability to fangirl only on the inside. When she met Will Smith at a press conference, she shook his hand profusely with a bright smile on her face. She'd even met President Obama and had only expressed how honored she was to be in his presence; however, she did manage to slip in the fact that they shared a birthday.

All that aside, with KCON only hours away, Farrah's inner fangirl was dangerously close to breaking free and taking over...and she was kind of ok with that.

"Girl, I can practically see you struggling right now."

As the other members conversed around them, Zoey placed her hand on Farrah's shoulder and grinned, taking the pair of sunglasses she had stashed in her hair and placing them over her sparkling blue eyes. "You're slacking," she teased, pinching Farrah's caramel-colored cheek and donning her trademark, posh British accent, "We must do our best to keep ourselves composed among a plethora of Korean goodness," she dropped the accent, "and you're already falling behind."
