Stolen Kisses

I felt his hand close about mine.
I felt his arms encircle my hips.
I felt his lips capture mine.

I found that I enjoyed kissing him.
I found that he wasn't as revolting as I thought.
I found that maybe I did love him.

All too soon the fantasy was broken.
All too soon he become what I knew him to be.
All too soon he transformed back into a beast.

His lips left mine.
His lips touched my ear.
His lips whispered, "You will be my king."

Couple

I watch them walk the hallways,
His arm constantly about her
Her hand caressing her protruding stomach.
I watch them fall deeper in love,
Him with her gentle voice
Her with his love and care.

I scrub a hand across my mouth
Where I was branded by that boy
His taste still lingering on my lips.
I scrub a hand across my burning eyes,
Wondering if I'll ever find that love
If I'll ever be able to live.

I see them together,
Her with her lips pressed against his
Him with his head bent towards her.
I see them surrounded with love,
H

er with the babies she carries
Him with the family he's gained.

Empty

Your office is empty,
Filled with flowers
And meaningless cards.

Your chest is empty,
Piled with clothes
And unused perfume.

My inbox is empty,
Filled with false
Condolences and sympathy.

My heart is empty,
Filled with grainy
Memories and pain.

Your grave is empty,
Filled with bones
And decaying skin.

Your home is empty,
Filled with strangers
And new belongings.

My mind is empty,
Filled with useless
Equations and words.

My life is empty,
Filled with lost
Friends and love.
