I woke up next to Zahir, and couldn't be any happier because I'm in a happy place in my life. I honestly think he's the one, and he isn't going anywhere, I ain't finna get hurt again, my whole life has been full of hurt, and I'll be damned. I stayed in bed laying on Zahir's chest and tracing over his tattoos with my finger while I sang a song my mother always used to sing me.
"Damn ma, you got a beautiful voice" Zahir said scaring me
"What are you talking about" I said playing dumb
" I heard you singing, don't play dumb"
"I was just playing around"
"If that's you playing, I could only imagine if you were serious, ever thought about singing forreal"
"No"
"Why not?"
"Because I'll never make it in this cold ruthless ass world"
"Never isn't apart of our vocabulary baby girl. Get dressed, imma take you somewhere"
I obeyed his orders, and went into the bathroom doing my morning routine (showering, brushing my teeth, shaving, etc). I then walked out in my towel, and started looking for an outfit, while Zahir went into the bathroom to shower. I decided on a grey t-shirt dress,my white huaraches, and my gold cross chain. I put my outfit on, and put my hair into two buns, I applied some lip gloss on ad waited for Zahir to finish dressing up. When he was done, we left out the house to go wherever we were going. We were in the car for a while, and sleep soon took over my body.
"Wake up baby girl, we here" Zahir said shaking me
I opened my eyes, and looked out the window to see that we were at a recording studio.
"What are we doing here?" I asked
"What else do you do at a studio?" He asked me in a duh tone
"Then I guess, I'll be hearing you sing"
"Stop playing dumb baby, we came here for you"
I soon tensed up, "No, I don't wanna sing"
"What's wrong with you, you got a beautiful voice. Why you gonna let it go to waste?"
"Because-"
"Because what"
"Nothing Zahir nothing"
"Chantel it's something, so tell me what's up"
"I just vowed to myself I would never sing seriously, I always wanted to be a singer, but I promised myself I wouldn't"
"Why Chantel, spit it out?"
"Because the last time I sang, was the last time I saw my mother. That was the last time somebody ever loved and cared for me. That's fucking why, you happy now!"
"Baby calm down. I'm sorry, but I know that if you went through with your dream, your mama would be in heaven looking down on you, proud that you were doing something that both you and her loved"
"I guess you're right"
"So let's get in there, and you record something. Let ya mama hear some of your music from heaven"
I finally agreed, and walked into the studio with Zahir, there was a producer waiting there for us. He told me to go into the booth and put the head phones on so we could start recording. He began playing the beat for me, but nothing came out. I looked at Zahir, and he said "Remember, do it for her. Make her proud". His words alone motivated me, I went into my notes and gave a signal to play the beat. I began singing:
You wanna go play, right away
Well I'm fine with that
We smoke and drink all day, baby
And I'm faded like
I can't remember your name, right away, what I'm tryna say
I got that game changed, I got that game changed

I got that game changed and you want it
You've been looking at me strange like you falling
Deep into my gaze, brainwashing
Brainwashing, this is your warning

I'm 'bout to tell you dirty, dirty little secret
I'ma keep it daddy, daddy, can you keep it?
Don't say nothing that you know you gonna regret
Put your hands up in the air
It's a stick up, stick up

I'm a bandit, I'm a bandit, I'm a bandit, I'm a bandit
I'ma throw it, throw it, throw it, throw it, throw it, throw it, throw it up
You can't stand it
Yeah I'm a bandit

This club going cra-azy, like a maniac
Gold in my champagne, I don't care
Where my gangstas at?
Put 'em in the air, one time
Live your life no matter what they say, I do this everyday
I want the money, fuck the fame

Game changed and you want it
You've been looking at me strange like you falling
Deep into my gaze, brainwashing
Brainwashing, this is your warning

I'm 'bout to tell you dirty, dirty little secret
I'ma keep it daddy, daddy, can you keep it?
Don't say nothing that you know you gonna regret
Put your hands up in the air
It's a stick up, stick up

I'm a bandit, I'm a bandit, I'm a bandit, I'm a bandit
Ima throw it, throw it, throw it, throw it, throw it, throw it, throw it up
You can't stand it
Yeah I'm a bandit

Ooh, you've been looking for the wrong one baby
Oh yeah, and I know what to do to make you go crazy
Oh yeah, you've been looking for the wrong one baby
Oh yeah, I know what to do to make you go crazy (craz-eee)

'Bout to tell you dirty, dirty little secret
Ima keep it daddy, daddy, can you keep it?
Don't say nothing that you know you gonna regret
Put your hands up in the air
It's a stick up, stick up

I'm a bandit, I'm a bandit, I'm a bandit, I'm a bandit
I'ma throw it, throw it, throw it, throw it, throw it, throw it, throw it up
You can't stand it
Yeah I'm a bandit
(This is one of Justine Skye's actual songs who plays the character of Chantel, go check her out).
The beat stopped when I said my last line, and Zahir came and gave me a hug and kiss.
"You did it baby girl" he smiled
"I wouldn't have done it if it wasn't for you" he laughed
We listened to the track a few times, and I named it "Bandit", we got a cd with the song on it and was on our way out. Once again, Zahir does another good deed for me showing me why I'm thankful that he's in my life.
