Chapter 14

My mouth hangs open in awe.Hes okay.I mean other then some bruises scratches and most likely s broken nose hes okay.Alive.We stand like that just starring at each other.He hasn't gotten in to a patients gown yet.Hes clothes are rips and dirty just like mine.After standing there for a while soaking it all in I can't take it any more.I run up to his open arms and hug him.Once I'm in his arms I feel safe.It feels like the world just re-winded.Like no of this ever happened."Your okay."I said breathlessly."So are you."He replied in the same tone of shock."Tyler I'm so sorry.This was all my fault.You shouldn't have ever came to help me.I should've just called the police.This is all-"He cuts me off with a move of his hand to say."Kristy if he had hurt you I would've never forgiven myself for not being there.Its okay.I called you any way so you wouldn't have time to even dial 9-1-1.You did the right thing.Don't beat yourself up over it.I'm fine."He said reassuringly."I know but what if he killed you?What if you became handicaped.What if he-"He cuts me off again and says."Don't worry about the what ifs.They didn't happen and won't ever happen."I look up and stare into his deep brown eyes.I close my eyes and bury myself into his chest and just concetrate on his calm breathing."Are you okay?Any broken bones or stitches?Any major damage done?"He sighs and says"My nose is broken.Thats all.Actually I might have to get stitches on the side of my head but thats all."I wince as he says it all."Don't worry it could be worse.All that matters is that were okay together."He says before I can talk again.I lift my head up to look at him again.He has a huge bloody eye and bloodly nose.Other then the blood he looks the same."I'm so glad your okay.I would've killed myself if anything happened to you.Espicially knowing it was my fault."I whisper.A nurse walks in and says"Mr.Knite the doctor is ready to see you."I look at him and give him a final huge."Goodbye."I whisper."Bye."He whispers into my hair giving me a kiss on the head. __________________________________________________________________________________
