I felt power and adrenaline surge through me as I watched him get up. His eyes raked my body again and I took a deep breath, focusing on his chest.
I waited for him to make the first move. We stayed bouncing on the balls of our feet for a good ten seconds. He wants me to make the first move. If I make eye contact, he'll take advantage of that. Another ten seconds passed.
I feigned a left roundhouse, and got knocked to the ground. Getting back up, I threw a jab. Yejun blocked it with ease. I smirked, and went in for the hook.
Barely missing his jaw, his elbow collided with my shoulder, causing me to hiss. Elbows aren't even used in Taekwondo, he's bugging.
I squeezed my shoulder in effort to ease the pain. He sharply went back into stance. I stared at his chest and went into Muay Thai stance.
45 degrees. 45 degrees. 45 degrees.
His chest moved back. Just in time, I slid backwards, surprised that I dodged his crescent kick. He slid back.
He's about to front kick me.
Preparing myself, he raised his front leg. As I was about to block it, his body quickly spun around. I gasped.
This fucking bitch.
Suddenly, I was staring up at the ceiling. The music slowly drowned out as my heart throbbed in my ears. The lights dimmed. I took deep breaths. Then stopped.
He loomed over me. I blinked. He stared down at me. I felt sick. I closed my eyes. Then opened them. His face came into focus.
I felt my headgear get thrown off, following my chest guard getting untied. Instantly, I took a deep breath and stared into his dark eyes. His mouth moved, yet all I heard was the frantic beating of my heart.
His smile reassured me. Wait, what's wrong with me? I blinked again and sound of the music slowly started blasting in my ears again. He took his headgear off and kneeled beside me.
"Are you okay?"
I nodded.
"Did you go all out?"
I noticed his hesitation and sighed. Of course he didn't. "I'm sorry, it's just that.. I don't want to hurt you. Don't look at me like that! I did go harder, just not fully. I love you too much."
My heart fluttered. "It's not like I'm asking for much." I muttered as I got up.
"You're asking me to hurt you. That alone kills me." My eyebrows furrowed as I felt myself tumble to the ground, only to get caught.
"What...?" I mumbled. "Yejun?"
"Are you okay?" I tried to nod, but felt bile rise in my throat. Everywhere was spinning. I felt sweat cascade down my nose bridge.
I turned around and held on to his chest guard. "Yejun..." I whispered as I started panting, "Ye..." He started helping me walk to the bathroom. As soon as he opened the door and lifted the toilet seat, I emptied everything.
The side of my head started killing me. Wait, did he... Did he land a head shot me? Just the thought of it made me vomit even more. He rubbed my back and kept my curls from touching the seat. Even in a time like this, he understands my struggle.
