Chapter 29 - Muay Taekwondo (get it? Muay Thai? Taekwondo? Smd)

Start from the beginning

He sighed. "Be prepared for tonight. Now go to class."

"I'm sure." I said with confidence.

He squeezed my shoulder. We stopped to bow before entering and walked inside of the dojang. "Len." My hand grabbed the knob as I turned to him.

"To make it fair, you can use Muay Thai as well." I nodded and went inside of the women's locker room. After getting changed, we helped each other tie our sparring gear.

We stepped away from each other and put our helmets on. "Do you want music?" He asked. That would make it better. I nodded and he ran over to the iPad.

Suddenly, music blasted from the speakers and he ran back over to me. We faced each other. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Once he exhaled, he slowly opened them.

My breath hitched in my throat. He seemed to take on a more serious demeanor. His eyes looked like they were calculating every step I was about to take. Yejun's eyes raked over my body as he smirked. I should be used to this, why am I so nervous?

"Ready?"

Even though he was speaking English, his voice sounded deeper, way more confident. Is this the power of the Face Shot Demon? He stood so still, I wasn't sure if he was breathing.

I nodded as we bowed to each other.

As soon as I was about to come up, I got kicked in my side. I almost fell back, but caught myself. Yejun came at me with such speed, it seemed like he was using some type of GTA cheat code.

I took on my Taekwondo stance and blocked one of his roundhouse kicks. Even with arm padding on, it really hurt. He sent another kick, which I surprisingly blocked with ease.

As soon as he came in from the side, I grabbed his leg and kicked the other one. Yejun fell down, but got up just as fast. I blocked another kick, wincing at how hard it was.

I watched the movements of his chest, not daring to make eye contact. His legs went to the right, but the chest never lies. I instantly blocked another kick and socked him in the jaw.

Don't apologize.

Taking advantage, I back kicked him and tried to land another punch. Instead, my eyes met his, and for a quick second, I flinched.

For once, I saw my reflection in his eyes. I saw the horror in my eyes and wondered if he's seen me this way before.

Suddenly, my back hit the mirror side. I groaned as I slowly got up and looked back. Good, the mirror didn't break.

'Baby, this is what you came for. Lightning strikes every time she moves.'

I tightened my fists.

'And everybody's watching her.'

I looked up at his bottomless eyes and walked back to him.

'But she's looking at you.'

My knee connected with his gear as he tried to push me off. I grabbed his arm and twisted it. Yejun let out a gasp as I kicked his calve, causing him to lose his balance and fall back.
