I pushed her out the room and made my way to my bathroom. That girl is so bipolar. One minute she loves me, the next minute she picks on me. I looked in the mirror to see my face swollen up from the amount of crying I was doing. I washed my face then put on some light mascara. When I was about to apply some eye liner on, I saw Mom and Dad appear in the mirror, making me poke my eye and drop my eye liner down the drain.
"D*mn it!" I shouted, holding my eye and looking down the drain, as if I can see the eye liner in there. I heard them both laughing, which made me whip around and give them a glare.
"Why did you guys do that?!" I shout-whispered to them so no one would hear me.
"I'm sorry, honey." My Mom said in between laughs. My Dad was in tears, which made me pluck his head. I turn back around to the mirror to look at my eye, which was a little red. That hurt really bad.
"You two are so lucky that my eye didn't start bleeding." I grunted, looking at them through the mirror.
"We didn't mean to, Miya." Dad choked out, still laughing.
"I don't see how this is amusing to you, Dad. Now I don't have any more eye liner, thanks to you two."
"Are you sure? In that big make up bag of yours, you're telling me you don't have anymore?" Mom said, pointing to my purple zebra printed make up bag.
"Yep." I walked out the bathroom and headed out the room, shutting off the lights.
"Miya, meet us in our room when you are done, okay?" Dad choked, wiping tears from his eyes.
"Oh whatever." I said, walking down the stairs.
I heard them both chuckled, which caused me to turn around to see them gone. I rolled my eyes at there foolishness and headed into the living room, where some of the guests and my family were. My grandma was sitting next to my brother, Michael. Everyone was laughing and such, until I walked in and everyone went kind of quiet. It was kind of odd but I just shrugged it off. Grandma looked up to meet my eyes and smiled.
"Hey, sweetie. I was just about to come up there to see what was wrong." She said, pulling me down to sit next to her.
I smiled and said "I'm okay. I had to fix something." Oh shoot! Now she would want to know what it was. She's always in my business...actually in anyone's business.
"Which was?" She asked, holding my hand and stroking it with her thumb. Everyone's attention was drawn to me, which I don't like at all.
"It was a client about her nails." I lied.
I, honestly, do nails. I do it as a side job to pay for my books and stuff for college. I know, I know. You're thinking 'Oh your parents have all the money in the world. Why don't you just use the money that they already have?' Well, since the Travel Channel cut their budget down, they didn't make as much they did back then so I just started making money on my own. We aren't poor, trust me. It's just that I want to try and be more independent. And, plus, I love doing nails. I learned how to do them when I was 13 but I had stopped because I was going through that emo girl, depressed stage that almost every girl go through, but started back up after high school.
Grandma nodded. "As I was saying...."
I let out a sigh feeling the tension in the air going away. I zoned out from them talking and was more focused on what Mom and Dad have to tell me. I honestly don't want to be in here. It's boring and it smells like a funeral home. I don't want to talk about my parents death, also because it makes me feel depressed and I get distant from people, even my boyfriend, who was suppose to be here by now. I have a weird feeling that he's cheating on me, but I'm going to wait a while and see if he's cheating or not.
"Miya?!" I heard Michael shout out. I jumped and looked at him, like I wanted to jump across Grandma and beat the daylights out of him.
"What? I was listening." I hissed at him and lied. He smirked and shuffled in his seat a little, facing towards me
"I didn't ask you that." He said, smirking. "So you're lying? You didn't listen to nothing I said, did you?" I started to panic a little, feeling sweat forming on my forehead and hands.
All of a sudden, I heard a whisper in my ear, saying "He was talking about how I freaked out about him having a snake in the house, holding it for a friend. And you're welcome." I knew it was Dad. I could even hear the smirk in his voice.
I smirked back at him and crossed my arms. "You were talking about how Dad freaked out about you having a snake in the house. You were holding it for a friend, right?"
Michael's mouth dropped while I covered my mouth, trying to not die from laughing at his priceless face. "Y-you're right." He stuttered, then sitting back in the chair, thinking of how I knew.
"Excuse me but I have to go use the bathroom." I lied.
"You're excused." Grandma said, letting go of my hand. I got up and headed upstairs, until Michael almost tripped me on the way there. I looked back at him and hit his shoulder, making an echo. He squealed like a little girl, making my great grandpa say "Martha, is that you sweetie?!" He got up and ran around the house, assuming that he was looking for Martha. My great grandpa can't hardly hear anything and I think he has Alzheimer. I walked upstairs, into my parent's room and cut on the lights. As soon as I shut the door, I stared laughing. I was holding my stomach by this point and slide down on the floor, crying my eyes out.
After my laughter had died down, I looked up to see Mom and Dad laughing at me. "Was it that funny, Miya?" Mom said with a chuckle.
I wiped my eyes and said "Extremely funny. Did you see how he ran out of the living room?" I laughed some more. I couldn't help it and plus Michael's face. Oh my, I need a doctor.
"Okay, weirdo." Dad said, snickering. I rolled my eyes and got up from the floor and sat down on the bed.
"Oh and thanks Dad from saving me." I said.
"No problem. We were in there the whole time. You didn't feel us?" He said, sitting next to me.
"No." I said.
"Oh you'll get use to in in about a couple of years." Mom said, regretting about what she said. I whipped around to face her with shock.
"You said what?" I said.
"Way to go, big mouth." Dad said, getting up and walking to his dresser.
Mom rolled her eyes at that comment and said "That is what we have to talk to you about."
