*Key's p.o.v - three weeks later* (Beach house at the top)
I'm so glad I'm out of the hospital. Those three weeks there were a living hell. The nurses were so rude -mostly at me- that I cursed them out at one point. They were young nurses, though, and they kept on trying to flirt with Zak and flaunted him. He didn't see it or pay any attention to it but I was ready to fight them. But other than that, I am so glad. Zak and I are completely healed and we couldn't wait to be with the kids again.
Right now I am packing for the vacation at the beach house. I can't wait to see it! It's three hours away and we are definitely not taking a plane. I've never been to a beach house before and it's pretty exciting for not only me but for the kids as well. The whole GAC family is going, except for Vanessa who couldn't come because of personal issues. This is going to be one, crazy trip.
I was packing my shoes when Zak came back into the room with one of his guns and putting it in his suitcases. "Did you make sure that gun is on safety, Zak?"
"Yes I did." He replied, stacking his shirts on top of the gun. "Are you gonna bring yours?"
"No. I'll bring my pepper spray."
Zak looked up at me, scrunching his face in confusion. "The hell is pepper spray going to do?"
"More than you think." I closed my suitcase and began to pack the next one. "Would you like for me to test it out on you?"
"No ma'am."
"Alright then!" I sighed and shake my head at him. "'The hell is pepper spray going to do'? B*tch, a lot of things! That's like me asking you what good is your gun going to do!"
Zak rolled his eyes as he began to fold a pair of his pants. "I'm just saying that it's not going to be as effective as a gun would, in my opinion."
I rolled my eyes as well at his lack of knowledge. "I'm not gonna sit here and argue with you all day. Are the kids packing?"
"Yes they are besides Miya. She had to run to the store for personal hygiene stuff."
I put whatever I had in my hand and sat it down and put a hand on my hip."Did I not tell her last night did she needed to go to the store for anything?"
"I don't remember, Key. She'll be back in a minute."
Sighing, I close my last suitcase to pack. "Alright. Do you need help?"
"No. Taylor might need help, though."
I go to Taylor's room and knocked on the door. "Who is it?!"
"It's mom. Do you need help?"
"Um...I don't think you want to come in here. It's a mess."
I chuckle as I opened the door. They're were mostly clothes thrown every where around the room. "You know you have to clean this up before we leave, right?"
She grunted as she threw her hairbrush into her bag. "Do you know how long that's gonna take? It's gonna take hours."
"That's because you procrastinate a lot." I moved her clothes that were on the bed and sat down. "But I'll help you. Do you have everything packed?"
"Almost. I just need my shoes packed." She pointed to the shoes that were beside her green suitcase on the floor.
"I'll pack them for you." Once I finished that, we began to clean her room. We finished around the time we're suppose to leave.
"Zak, when is Melissa suppose to come?" I asked as I grabbed my suit cases. Melissa is our dog/ sometimes house sitter (when our security system wants to cooperate or when we want to take the kids along with us to the location) who lives across the street from us. She's been our sitter since I could remember. She's really nice and takes great care of Gracie and the house while we're out on investigations or going on vacation.
