Katniss and Peeta- one year later

Chapter 30- The Broken Promise

Katniss's POV

"I am going to make some some soup." Peeta mumbles and he gets up and walks to the kitchen. I feel so lonely now. I mean I really wish Peeta understood. I feel really bad and I try to say something but it comes out quietly. I try again to talk louder but it does not work.

I turn my head around to try and find where he put my wheelchair and it is about 4 feet in front of me. I try moving over to grab it but I end up falling on the floor and I groan in pain. I then start seeing black dots and I here heavy foot steps coming my way. right before I black out the last thing I see is bright blue eyes that belong to Peeta.

*2 hours later*

I wake up and once I do I am met by the bright blue eyes that I saw last looking at me in worry.

"Peeta?" I whisper.

"Katniss what were you thinking?! You should of asked me to get you the wheelchair! Not try to reach it on your own and fall on the floor on you back!" He yells at me.

"I-I am sorry but you were mad at me Peeta." I whimper about to burst into tears.

"NO KATNISS! Stop being sorry! Have a goodnight." Peeta yells meanly.

"N-no Pe-" I start saying but then I get cut off by Peeta slamming the door.

No. I think to myself. He left me. Peeta left me all by myself again like he said he wouldn't. I start crying to myself. I move my head to try to see if I can find a phone somewhere so I can call Annie. I then spot a phone about 3 feet away from me.

I take a pillow off of the coach and throw it at the phone so it drops on the floor and it is about 2 feet closer. I stretch my arm out trying to reach the phone and then I eventually grab it. I type in Annie's phone number and put it against my ear waiting for her to pick up.

"Hello?" She answers.

"A-Annie." I say and then I start sobbing.

"Oh my god Katniss! What happened? Are you okay?" She asks frantically.

"P-Peeta left me." I whimper trying to control my crying.

"What?!" She shouts.

"Y-yeah. I went to the hospital, long story, but I ended up being in a wheelchair and I tried getting the wheelchair and I fell and blacked out. When I woke up Peeta yelled at me for not asking him to get it for me and then he left m-me." Once I say those words I break down.

"Oh Katniss.. I am so sorry! I am on my way with Finn! We should be there in 4 hours, okay?"

"Okay. Thank you so much Annie!" I whimper.

"Anytime. See ya soon!" Annie chirps and then hangs up the phone.

I just drop the phone on the floor and lie down to fall asleep.

*4 hours later*

I am woken up by someone shaking me. I open my eyes up slowly.

"Annie? How did you get in?!" I asked becasue I never remember giving her keys to the house becasue Peeta and I are the only one who have keys, no one else does.

"Well your husband left the door unlocked." She snickers.

"I am so glad you and Finn are here!" I say trying to sound happy.

"Anytime Katniss. I cannot believe Peeta left you though!" Annie says starting to get angry.

"Y-yeah well he did." I croak.

"Alright well I am gonna go put Finn down for a nap and I will be right back down." Annie says.

Annie then grabs Finn and walks upstairs with him while I am left alone in the living with my thoughts. Just me and my thoughts. I start thinking about how Peeta left me and how he broke his promise to me. Just then Annie comes back down and takes a seat next to the couch.

"Do you need anything?" Annie asks.

"Yeah. Yeah I need Peeta." I croak and then I burst into tears.

"Katniss I am gonna go get something from my car quickly. I will be right back." She says and walks outside to go get the thing from her car.

Annie's POV

"Katniss I am gonna go get something from my car quickly. I will be right back." I tell Katniss.

I get up and walk outside and I sit in my car. I take out my phone to call Peeta becasue Katniss is miserable right now and she needs Peeta with her. I have memorized Peeta's phone number by now becasue Finn loves hearing Peeta's voice is he is ever down or sad and Peeta cheers him up. I type his number in on my phone and press call and it starts ringing.

Come on Peeta please answer the phone! I think in my head. All of the sudden I hear that all too familiar voice in my ears.

"Hey Annie." Peeta snaps.

"Hi Peeta. I need to talk to you." I say.

"Go ahead." He mumbles.

"Okay stop giving me the attitude! Do you know how Katniss feels now! I had to take a train down here to help her out and comfort her becasue you, her husband, broke a promise and left her in the house alone without the door even being locked!" I scream.

"Oh Um- well uh.." Peeta says sounding speechless.

"Yeah Peeta. Your wife has been sobbing ever since you left wishing you came back. She is not doing good at all. You left her all alone well she can't do or get anything herself. You know how said how I had to come here? Well I also had to bring Finn, pay 300 dollars to get here and then I had to be on the train for 4 hours because of you Peeta! You caused all of this!" I scream.

"I am really sorry Annie but I was mad at her! I did not mean to make her so upset-" Then all of the sudden I heard a scream coming from the inside of the house and glass breaking.

"KATNISS! GOD NO, KATNISS!" I start screaming getting out of the car.

"Annie?! Annie, what's wrong? Is Katniss okay?" Peeta asks frantically.

"Peeta I will call you back later." I say then I hand up before he can object.

I then run inside the house and open once I get in I see __________

CLIFFHANGER!!!! I am truly sorry I have not updated this book guys. Tbh I was having a little bit of trouble thinking of ideas for this book. Also I have had ALOT of homework from stupid school and I have been working on my other book Stepbrother. I will try to update this book at least once every week!
