Atlantis

I thought, and thought,
And thought about you,
The sky was pink,
The sea was blue.

It held me captive
In its salty spell,
Like lover's arms
That knew me well.

I slipped, I swam,
I spat, I sank,
Old memories shriveled
And cracked and shrank.

I built atlantis around
Your marble statue,
Alone I sat,
And wept for you.
