Zayn POV
"Mr. Malik!" our teacher Mrs Swanson scolded. I looked up from my sketch pad.
"Yes, ma'am," I asked sheepishly. "What could possibly be more interesting than
what I am teaching you?" she asked. "Well to be fair," Carolina cut in. "Grammar
is pretty boring and I think we should get back to Mythology instead," she said
giving our teacher a sweet smile. "You're right, Carolina," Mrs. Swanson sighed.
"I never found grammar particularly fun nor entertaining either. So, take out
your Mythology books!" she says clapping her hands and heading back to the front
of the room. "Thanks," I whisper to her with a grateful smile. "No problem. I
just hope I see the picture soon," she says not looking at me, but a sly smile
growing on her face. "Almost done," I reply grabbing my book and tuning in to
the conversation about Adonis. At the end of class the bell rang and I grabbed
Carolina's bag. "Let's go," I smirk.
Carolina POV
"Wait! Zayn! Where are we- oh. Hello, Steven," I say icily to my ex-boyfriend.
"Hey, Carolina. How've you been? Miss me?" he asked me shooting me a grin that
used to make me melt but now only makes it turn to ice. "I've been just fine
without you. Haven't missed you for a day in my life except for the first week
before I realized that I was doing better without you," I hiss. I grab my book
and stalk out of the classroom. "Hey now! Carolina, babe, we can wor-" he
starts. "No we can't!" I yell at him. "You cheated on me and then tried to get
me to do I don't know wha-!" I'm cut off by his lips crashing onto mine.
Zayn POV
I walked out of the classroom without Carolina because I assume that she would
follow me. I dropped both out bags on the floor and finished my drawing. I
smiled at the finished product and then went to go find her. I picked up our
bags, slipped the picture into her bag, and began walking down the hallway back
to the English classroom. "Ca-" I stop. She was kissing some other guy. It
seemed like she was....enjoying it. I shut my eyes against the coming tears and
dropped her bag. I quickly wiped my eyes and walked away. The bag and drawing
forgotten but the memory of the two of them fresh in my mind.
