I strive to be heard
And not to be rendered absurd
I strive to say
Whatever it is that I cannot convey in an essay
I strive to know
So I can turn not into someone below
I strive to learn
Things I have not yet discern and cannot yearn
I strive to live
For I am not content with what they are able to give
I want to be free
And not work my way just to acquire an academic degree
Because I deserve a life I have yet to fulfill
Yet how can I when I cannot feel my own free will.
