On my list of people who would believe and help us I mark off "Stark" and "Clint".

On the list of ways of transportation I cross out "Bifrost" and any other means of teleportation.

I think some more and then draw a line through "Shield Aircraft".

I do this kind of calculation for a long time. I'm not sure how long I am at it. It's been hours and hours of me writing stuff and standing and thinking things over and ripping other things down and crossing things out. I get frustrated and realize it's hopeless. My stressed out head is too much for me to work with...

It's late now. And I don't know why but I leave my room and wander the halls. That's when I hear a thudding in the training room. I slowly make my way into the dark grey room... seeing the beams of light highlight the strong muscles of Steve Rogers as he smashes his fists against a bag of sand hanging from a chain.

"Dang, what did that bag of sand ever do to you?" I say as I stop a few feet behind him.

He breathes a laugh and stops for a moment. "Maybe I just really hate sand..." he jokes, liking my always teasing behavior.

I chuckle. "I can understand that. It does get everywhere and it's also coarse and rough and irritating."

He returns the slight laughter as he catches his breath.

I walk forward and face him. "Tell me something."

"...What?" he looks at me

"Your story. Tell me your story. You know mine, yet I don't know yours."

He thinks and looks down hesitantly. Then he walks over to where he left a towel and bottle of water. He sits on the concrete steps and takes a drink as I sit beside him. "'My story'... And where would you like me to start?"

I purse my lips in thought for a moment

I purse my lips in thought for a moment. "Hmm... when's your birthday?"

He chuckles. "July fourth, nineteen twenty."

My eyes widen. "Really? Captain American, born on America's Independence Day. Wow, who would've thought?"

He is laughing softly. "Alright alright. Don't tell anyone else they'll never let me hear the end of it. Talk about irony, though. If that's not a sign from God I don't know what is," he chuckles.
