TW: None?

Sjin stared down at the confusing piece of machinery. Xephos normally dealt with the machinery part of farming whilst Sjin stuck with the actual working part but he couldn't help but wonder how these contraptions worked, well not work in this case. Sjin prodded one of the buttons with his long fingers in hope of some response. However none was given and it was getting late.

"Xephos? Xephos? I need your help?" Sjin whined before returning his gaze to the troublesome machine. His eyes scanning the mess of wires and outputs. Suddenly, Sjin felt two hands slide around his waist causing him to jump and gasp. "Ahh! Don't do that Xephos!" Xephos' head lay on Sjin's shoulder, his hands now fully around his waist, hugging him. Xephos' laughed was filled with warmth as always.

"Aww, what do you need help with?" Xephos asked with a smile. His arms left Sjin's waist leaving it feeling exposed.

"This...um...thing." Sjin said pointing to the mess in front of him. Xephos smiled at Sjins knowledge of machinery, he always enjoyed trying to teach him and then seeing the look of confusion on his face. Before Xephos could find out what was wrong there was a rumble within the clouds before darkness fell over them. Xephos glanced back at Sjin to check if he was ok but he looked terrified.

"It's ok we'll fix it tomorrow let's get inside before the storm picks up." Xephos said reassuringly. Sjin tried to copy the look back and smile but he was obviously scared. Xephos grabbed Sjins hand and ran towards the farm house being careful not to slip. Sjin held back with unnecessary strength to make sure he didn't let go. They both launched each other inside before the rain started pouring and the first bolt of lightning struck.

"Phew," Sjin said with relief "That was close."

"Yeah," Xephos replied with exhaustion. The door swung open off of the latch due to the wind with a horrendous gushing sound. Xephos ran for the doors to push them shut with help from Sjin who wedged it shut with one of the table chairs. They were both panting now looking at each other with tired eyes. Another bolt of lightning struck this time hitting the power supply Xephos had spent ages on. The lights around the house flashed off. Sjin flinched and gave a sympathetic look to Xephos before hugging him closely, but Xephos posture stayed strong and didn't hug back. Pain filled his eyes. Sjin knew how long Xephos spent building that and getting it to work. This was not going to be an easy night. "It's ok. I can fix it in the morning" Xephos said more to reassure himself than Sjin.
"Let's get to bed now. We can sort things out in the morning." Sjin said to distract him. It obviously worked as he turned to make himself a cup of tea and flashed a quick smile towards Sjin.

"Sure. Why not?" Xephos said in his normal tone.

They both got dressed and lit up the house using candles. Xephos made himself some tea and Sjin always went for the hot chocolate. "Hey!" Sjin said as he waddled in ,in his green dressing gown that Xephos always teased him about.

"Oh if it isn't my favourite dressing gown!" Xephos teased wearing only boxer shorts and his blue and white striped t-shirt, sprawled across most of the double bed.

"Oh shut up!" Sjin said with a smile as he squished onto what was left of the bed setting down his hot Chocolate on his bedside table. Lightning struck again making Sjin flinch and look towards the sky as if it were falling. Xephos, in seeing this, tried to reassure him.

"Hey look, its fine we're safe here." Xephos said, his blue eyes glowing. Sjin smiled and blushed, lying facing Xephos. Nobody had ever reassured him about his fear of lightning. People normally just teased him about it but, as always, Xephos was different. Sjin couldn't help but admire Xephos' pretty glowing eyes. This had always been Sjins favourite feature of him, aside from his fluffy black hair, Sjin loved how the way they glowed in different situations.

"I...I've...never been good with lightning." Sjin admitted.

"Well I promise no lightning god will touch you as long as you're with me" Xephos smiled. Sjin giggled and leaned closer toward Xephos so their noses were touching. They both huddled up facing each other pulling the covers over until they were completely covered. They stared deeply into each other's eyes for a moment before another crash of lightning hit. Sjin was about to turn his head away to look towards the sky again but Xephos' hands were on his cheeks stopping him. His hands were cold but Sjin didn't move away.

"Keep looking at me." Xephos said their noses still touching. It was getting hot underneath the covers but neither of them wanted to leave. Slowly Xephos tilted his head making their mouths touch slightly. The kiss started slow but progressed into a quick rhythm. At some points their lips brushed over each other and at other points nothing else in the world mattered. Finally, they ran out of air and pushed the covers off so they could breath. The air was cold and greeted their red faces with joy
"Well I'll tell you something." Sjin said panting "I have definitely gotten over my fear of lightning!"
