"Get up! Get up, A!" Sydney pulled my blankets.

"Ano ba?" I asked in a sleepy tone. Antok pa talaga ko. Respeto naman sa puyat, oh.

Today is the 4th day na wala si tita Anna which means, apat na araw na din kaming nakakulong dito.

"C'mmon. We are going out today."

"Out your face."

"Ano ba A? Hindi ka ba nabobored dito? Kasi ako, oo. Sobrang sobra. Mamatay matay na ko."

"Drama queen ka talaga." I sat down, my eyes still closed. Dahan dahan kong minulat yung isa kong mata to take a peek at Sydney, my crazy early bird bestfriend. I saw her standing at the foot of my bed, both her hands on her waist. At nakabihis ang lola.

"Oh. San punta mo?"

"Anong ko? You mean, punta natin." She smiled.

"Anong natin?"

"Yes, tayo. Kaya bumangon ka na dyan at maligo ka na. I'll be waiting downstairs. Breakfast is ready."

"Nagluto ka?" I asked with disbelief.

"Duh?!" She rolled her eyes and added, "syempre nagpadeliver. Baka masunog ko pa tong bahay if I tried. Sige na, bangon na baka matraffic pa tayo. Uso na yun, nasa Pilipinas ka my dear."

Pagbaba ni Sydney, nagpalipas muna ko ng ilang minuto na nakaupo sa kama. Medyo ginigising ko na sarili ko to get ready. Then I stood up and went straight to the bathroom.

I chose to go casual. Since naka skinny pants lang si Syd and hanging blouse, I just wore a simple black dress that reached my ankles and paired it with my open toe sandals.

"Syd?"

"Here. I'm done eating. There's your food sa may breakfast nook." She said as she was applying make up.

Moments late, we were already on a cab going to wherever.

"Edsa Shangri-La po."

Di na lang ako umimik kahit nagulat ako na may alam palang place dito si Sydney. Sabagay, umuuwi din naman sya dito minsan.

"Aren't you tired yet? I think we've had enough shopping for the day." I raised my hands full of paper bags to stress it out.

Our first destination kasi was the bookstore. I bought a few books na I found interesting. Pag labas, nagulat na lang ako ng bigla akong hatakin ni Syd to the other side. And when I saw what was there, napailing na lang ako. A big signage that says: MAC.

So to emphasize the obvious, mahilig talaga sa lahat ng kakikayan to si Sydney. From shopping, to make up, to accessories, you name it. I swear I hate when I go shopping with Sydney, she just never runs out of energy!

Daldal pa din ng daldal habang naglalakad. She kept bugging me na magbeach naman daw kami kasi nabitin sya sa Subic.

"Uhh. Syd?"

"Nabitin talaga ko. Eto naman kasing si mommy, busy. Kaya na cut tuloy yung--"

"Sydney. Look be--"

"What the fudge!" She yelped.

Whoops. Too late. Nalaglag yung ibang paperbags ni Syd and in case I haven't told you yet, she is one tough kikay.

Wait for it...

"Ano ba?! Weren't you looking?! My god. Pano pag nabasag yung ibang binili ko?! Are you gonna pay for those? And pano pala kung ako mismo yung nahulog? Edi napahiya na nga ako, nasaktan pa ko. Good god!"

I swear, it's like she's Eminem.

"Hey. I didn't intend naman na mabangga ka. Also, from the looks of it, hindi ka din naman nakatingin eh. Cause if you were, edi sana nakaiwas ka since makikita mong magkakasalubong tayo."

Uh-oh. I smell fight. Tumingin ako kay Sydney and she was shocked for a moment that this guy would actually fire back. But when she recovered, let me tell you, she does not look like she's going to back down either.

"Excuse me?! So now, it's my fault?! San mo nabili yang kapal ng muka mo, naka sale ba at mukang nag hoard ka ata? Why can't you just be a gentleman, say sorry and pick up m--"

"Girl, tama na yan ano ka ba." Awat ko pero di nya ko pinakinggan.

"Look, if you're just worried about your things then I can pay for it. And no, wala na kong nabiling kapal ng muka kasi balita ko may isang babae daw na binili lahat." He smirked.

"Happy birthday, Santa Claus!" I said loud enough to get their attention. True enough, my weirdness got to them.

"Sydney just pick up your bags and stop whining." I turned to the guy next, "at ikaw naman lalake ka pa man din pero nakikipag away ka pa sa babae. How ungentleman. Would it kill you to say sorry?"

Wait. Kilala ko to ah...

"André?"

"Uh. Yes? Where do I know you from?" He asked.

"Aubrey and that's my friend Sydney. We had dinner at your house just a couple days back." I said finally feeling a bit more relaxed.

"Huh. You don't remember? It's the one you ditched for your friends, a-hole." Sabat na naman ni Sydney. Di talaga magpapatalo.

"Oh." He paused a moment and then, "right! I remember now. Sorry ah, may usapan din talaga kasi kami ng barkada ko nun eh. And Aubrey's right, I shouldn't have answered you back. That was so rude of me. Let me make it up to you. Can I just treat you to lunch?"

"No thanks. Di kami gutom." Sabay irap na sabi ni Sydney. And just at the same time, bigla na lang may tumunog sa tyan nya. Nagkatinginan kami ni André and we fought the urge to laugh. I saw Sydney's face turn tomato red.

"I guess it's fine. Let's go?" Sabi ko na lang kay André.

Hinatak ko na si Syd papunta sa elevator and giggling, binulungan ko sya, "the universe is not on your side today."
