Do I Wanna Know? - Arctic Monkeys

"And with eyes like those, you could have set the sky on fire, but you chose to burn me instead."

Gabriel got home a little after midnight and had already conjured up a believable story about how he had gone home with Liam after lacrosse tryouts and fallen asleep well watching a movie. He knew that if he told his father what had truly happened that he would either look at him like he was crazy or go crazy and make up a excuse of how he knew they shouldn't have moved to Beacon Hills and they needed to get out as soon as possible, and Gabriel didn't really like either of those options so he kept it to himself.

As soon as he was in his room he threw himself onto his bed and crawled under the covers. He was asleep within minutes and he had no time to think of what Liam had said to him in the woods that night.

The next morning he tried to convince his father with no success to let him stay home from school. He didn't really want to explain to his father that he was having "boy" troubles so he just let the conversation go after a few minutes and grabbed his backpack from his bedroom before the bus came.

He looked but did not see Liam on the bus to school that morning and as he, Mason, Violet, and Garrett he tried to push the other blue eyed boy to the back of his mind.

"There has to be something going on, Mason." Garrett said dramatically and Gabriel began to listen in on the conversation.

"We are freshman, you remember that, right dude? We just got off a school bus." Mason snarked and Gabriel grinned at him from behind Garrett as he knew that the other boy was probably rolling his eyes.

Suddenly Liam runs to them and barely misses bumping into them. Mason steadies him and stares at him with eyes filled to the brim with concern. "Hey Liam, why weren't you on the bus?"

Liam looked over at Gabriel, and he quickly casted his eyes towards the ground.

"I ran." Liam said, breathless.

This made Gabriel look up and he raises a eyebrow at Liam.

"You ran three miles to school?" Mason asked, confusion in his voice, obviously wondering how Liam could stand on his leg, much less run three miles on it.

Liam simply shrugged and Mason looked at him for a minute before shaking his head. "I guess your leg is OK."

Liam opened his mouth to say something but Gabriel interrupted him. "I have to get to my locker." He said, and turned around.

He could practically taste Mason's confusion as Liam told him a excuse and ran after him.

As he turned the corner, Liam gripped his wrist alittle to tight and pulled him back. Gabriel pulled as hard as he could without causing a scene, the bite had obviously taken.

"Wait, Gabriel, I need to talk to you." Liam said, his blue eyes were wide and Gabriel could see he was desperate.

"You made it perfectly clear you didn't want to talk anymore." Gabriel said seriously, staring him in the eyes and pulling his wrist out of his hold with all of his force. He could practically feel the finger print bruises on his wrist that wouldn't heal for a few hours.

He looked up and saw Stiles running towards them, with his dog on his heels, Scott.

Gabriel tried not to roll his eyes at the pair, and he turned to walk away from the pair.

"Gabriel! Liam!" Stiles called and he looked over his shoulder at them.

"You two are nuts, leave us alone." He said threateningly, glaring at them and Stiles quickly took a step back.

"We need to talk." Scott said from behind Stiles, and he turned his glare on him.

"You need to back up, the both of you." Liam growled, looking between the two. Scott shared a look with Stiles. They did not need Liam to wolf out in the middle of the school. It was the last thing they needed.

"Can you guys just listen for one second, please." Scott begged and Liam and Gabriel shared a look.

"Liam." Scott started, and looked him in the eyes. "We are brothers now."

Gabriel scoffed loudly and looked away. This kid was a freaking idiot. Gabriel had to wonder who got the great idea of giving him the bite.

"What are you even talking about?" Liam snapped out, his voice rising in volume. "I don't even know you, and you bit me!" He said angrily, and Gabriel went to grab for him as he felt how mad he was getting. He didn't want him to take a swing at the Alpha.

"The bite is a gift." Scott tried again, and Gabriel and Stiles turned to look at him in disbelief.
"You-you stop it." Stiles sighed and pointed at Liam and Gabriel. "We are trying to help both you little runts out." He sassed and Gabriel raised a eyebrow.

"I was perfect until I met you guys, so I don't really want your help." Gabriel snapped angrily and Liam stayed silent beside him.

"Scott kidnapped you. I just aided and abetted." Stiles tried to explain to the boys.

"I've gone through this before. Something is happening to you. Something big." Scott spoke up again and they both turned to look at him.

"Nothing is happening to me." Liam snarled and pulled the bandage from his arm. "See, nothing." He snapped, and turned away to leave, Gabriel on his heels.

They turned the corner and Gabriel almost bumped into him as he stopped so quickly.

"Nothing is going to happen to me, right?" Liam suddenly broke the silence, turned away from Gabriel.

Gabriel frowned and moved in front of him.

"I won't let that happen." He promised firmly, placing his hands on his shoulders.

"I would never let anything happen, I promise."
