I could see it so clearly, I could feel it like it was happening now. Once upon a time I was in Heaven, then I was with you, we were talking together, everything was fine. Then I had the bright idea, and you liked it too. We knew what we were doing, we definitely knew. We didn't care though, 'cause we're stupid... I'm stupid. So I let my mind wander, and you did too. Slowly the day dreams came to life, they surrounded us. Then... He found out, we knew He knew all along. Now it was very real though, He stared down at us, I wanted to hide. I didn't though, neither did you, then... something happened. He didn't make us leave, something else did. Something dragged me, and you came too. We fell and it was then I knew, I had made a terrible mistake.
Pain, first physical, then emotional, it surged into me all at once as I remembered what had just happened.
"Michael!" I screamed.
Frantically I looked around; I was in a black, charcoal crevice. Barely any light made its way in, I could only see about ten feet in front of me before the darkness took over. I didn't see Michael anywhere, but I saw something else, my wings.
A piece of my wings had come off, broken and bloody the piece laid ten feet in front of me.
I gasped in horror, yet it didn't feel real, I looked at my back and saw the rest of my wings were mangled, barely staying together.
The sight made me get queasy and I nearly threw up, I knew I wouldn't be flying anytime soon.
"Caroline!" A distraught voice called out.
"Michael!" I cried back; "I'm coming!"
I ran towards his voice as he continued to call out my name, when I reached him I stopped in shock as I saw him.
He was dirty, beaten and bruised like me, but his wings had been slices clean off his back.
I looked at his face and saw he was in agonizing pain; his voice gave it away as well. He was lying on the ground not moving, just moaning.
"I can help you!" I said as I got down on my knees beside him.
As soon as I went to touch him though, my wings sent a shot of pain through my body.
I collapsed next to him and lay there, moaning, just as bad off as he was.
Who was I to think I could help him? I thought helplessly.
I finally gave in and let my body rest, I wasn't moving anytime soon, the pain was much too strong.
