ATBASH comes from the first , last , second , and second to the last Hebrew letters (Aleph-Tav-Beth-Shin) . It works by substituting the first letter of an alphabet for the last letter , the second letter for the second to the last letter and so on . That is , A=Z , B=Y and so on .
