I was sitting at the office and I could hear my boss yelling at one of my coworkers. I had a desk right next to a window and I, often, found myself staring out of it. Nothing out of the ordinary and I closed my eyes, sighing. I missed Murphy, but I couldn't go see him...I just couldn't.

"(Your Name)! Get in here now!" My boss yelled, snapping me out of my thoughts. I opened my eyes and I sighed, standing up. I walked into his office and I said,

"Sir?" He looked at me and said,

"You have logged the most hours. You have no work to do in the office." I crossed my arms and said,

"So?" He smirked and said,

"You're a beautiful, single woman..." He paused and took a step towards me, touching my leg. He looked at me and continued,

"It must get lonely." I stepped away from him and said,

"No...it really doesn't." He grabbed my wrist, roughly, and said,

"Oh, come now, (Y/N). Don't make up your mind now." I pulled away from him and I walked outside, lighting up a cigarette. I looked to my side and I saw a person that was limping towards me, he was bleeding. I walked up to him and I said,

"Hey, are you alright?" The guy made a noise and I saw that he was a blueish-gray color. I looked at him and he grabbed me, roughly. He tried to bite me and my eyes widened as I said,

"You're a goddamn zombie." I bashed its head in and I ran, hearing screams from inside my office. I ran home and when I got there, I ran a hand through my hair. I felt tears come to my eyes and I said,

"Oh my God, Murphy." I paused and said,

"Okay, calm down. He's in prison, maybe he's safe. Maybe he's fine." I packed a military bag putting all my ammo, which was a lot, my three pistols, eight knives. Two short swords, two long knives, two pocket knives, and two regular swords. I packed five gallons of water, all my canned food, and some clothes. I put my gun belt on and I put one of the pistols on my hip, the other two stayed in the bag. I put one of the long knives next to my gun and one of the swords was on my back, the others in my bag. I was careful to make sure that all the knives were covered. I remembered most of my survivalist training from when I was in the Army. I looked at a map of the state and I mumbled, to myself,

"I gotta find that prison, it'll be better if I go by foot." Then, I heard the news broadcast. They were naming places that had been overrun by the infected. When they named the prison he was in, I lost my nerve and I punched the wall. I took my keys and I drove off, loudly. Any zombie in the area, heard it and I didn't care. Tears were streaming down my face and I was going nuts. I couldn't handle myself. I calmed down, eventually, and I stumbled upon Camp Sky Blue. I kept my backpack on at all times. Along with all my gear. Today was the first day, it went well. I had no problems and the camp was only a few of us. Then again, it was only day one and I didn't have to fight for my life before I got to Camp Sky Blue. I was one of the lucky ones.
