Chapter 2

AMY'S POV

I went towards my father's study. I knocked on the door.

"Come in, Amelia," Father said. I scowled. He always knew it was me. Someday I was determined to get the better of him, although the more I thought about it, the more I knew it wasn't going to happen.

"Hello, Father," I said. I sat in the chair facing him. I got right to the point. "You know how I want to go to Hogwarts?"

My father nodded, not looking up at me. I rolled my eyes at the typcial parent response. Uh huh, yeah, okay, maybe, I'll think about it. Parents. So condescending, even if they're the ruler of all things evil.

"So, I'd love to go," I said. "Just putting that out there. In case you couldn't tell." I spread my arms. "If you're not convinced already, based on my ever so compelling argument so far ..." I trailed off, giving him time to think about that. If I were to go to Hogwarts I would rather it be for the experience, not becasue of some lame deal I made with my dad. I'm gonna have plenty of homework anyway, I don't need even more from him. Maybe if he would respond to my sarcasm this time, I wouldn't have to put more on the table.

My father stared at me, waiting for me to continue. Obviously my argument was lacking a few key points.

"I was thinking I could go to be a spy. To spy on Harry Potter," I finished, with a twist of my mouth.

I waited to let the words sink in. Father waited, pondering my request. He had never said yes before. Never had he ever shown even a spark of interest to my requests. This time it was different. I could see he was seriously considering it.

"You know," I continued, persuading him more, "I could befriend him and get him to trust me. I could learn lots of inside information on the Order. Slowly but surely, I'll make him rot from the inside out. I suppose you could ask Draco, but seeing as he's lost his chance with Potter... I mean, a new face may not be the worst idea."

"Yes..." Father said. "That is a good idea."

I smiled deviously.

"You will go to Hogwars and befriend Harry Potter," he declared.

DRACO'S POV

Mother and I arrived back at our house in the fireplace. I looked around for Amy. She wasn't in the living room or anywhere downstairs. I went upstairs to look in her room.

"Amy, you there?" I knocked on the door. There was no reply.

I turned around to find a pale, dark eyed face right next to mine. I jumped, startled. "Amy!" I exclaimed.

Amy's face broke into a grin, a rare happening. "Draco, guess what!?" she asked, obviously bouncing with excitement.

"I dunno..." I felt a nervous pit in my stomach. I considered Amy's casually sadistic personality, hoping there was no news of brutal injuries, and I frowned slightly.

"I'm going to Hogwarts with you!" she exclaimed, throwing her arms around me.

"T-that's great!" I hugged her back. That was not what I was expecting. "How did you persuade your father?"

"Oh, I just told him that I would spy on Potter," she said. She leaned away from me. "But I'm so excited! We'll get to see each other all the time and be best friends together!"

I smirked. "But you'll have a job to do."

"Well, if Harry is as pathetic as you say he is, then I shouldn't have much of a problem," she replied, winking.
