*****Annabeth****

Where on Earth did Percy go? I ran a hand through my hair in pure frustration. His disappearances have become more frequent. I ran to the Ares cabin, looking for any clue of him. I knocked on the door.

"What?" An annoyed voice called. Clarisse.

"Clarisse, it's Annabeth. I need your help to find Percy! Please?"

The door opened. "How long has he been missing?"

"A few days."

"Alright."

We walked together in the woods calling his name. "Annabeth! Over here!"

"What-" I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw him.  Curled up in a ball hugging his knees to his chest was Percy. I ran over to him and grabbed his hands. They were cold.  Ice cold. "Clarisse! Get help!" She sprinted off back to camp without another word. I looked at Percy's face. His sea green eyes were cold black. Darker than Nico's. He didn't move or do anything.  He just laid there. "Percy! Please! Wake up. For me?" Tears streamed down my face. Footsteps approached.

"Okay! Up! Be careful, don't drop him!" The Apollo cabin. I ran behind them, waiting for a difference, but nothing. Nothing happened. I sat outside of the infirmary after they refused to let me in.

Piper walked over to me as I sat on the edge of  the stairs. "You okay?"

"No," I responded as I wiped tears from my face.

"Does anyone know what happened?"

"No. No one knows."

"Annabeth, he'll be okay. He'll come back to us."

"Kill them! Kill them all!" An angry shout tore from the tent. Percy. We looked at each other then ran into the tent. Percy glared at the other kids in the room, a weary look on his face.  Riptide was threatening to slice whomever came near him.

"Percy!" I shouted, then began to run to him. An Apollo kid blocked me.

"Annabeth, that isn't the Percy that we know."

"It is too."

"No it's not!"

"Kronos said that you'd betray me..." A voice called us. Percy was talking. To me. The light in the room flickered momentarily.

"Perce?" A voice called.  A figure in the shadows formed. "Perce! It's me. It's Luke."

"Luke..." Percy's attention was caught by the figure. "He said that once I changed, you'd be back to normal. Back to life. He lied to me."

"Percy. He did lie to you. He wanted you to die in the process.  He wasn't planning on you living."

"Clearly. How did you get here? Last time I saw you, you were in the Shadow Lair. I didn't know that you could come out."

"I never tried, and I never had a reason to, honestly."

"Luke, I need to get that sword!" Percy shouted in anger.

"Perce, that sword doesn't exist!"

"It does... I saw it."

"Where?"

"In Tartarus."

"You are insane if you're actually considering going there!"

"Idiot!" Percy seethed. "No, I'm not going there! I'm going to make someone else get it for me."

"It can only be wielded by the one that retrieves it, Perce."

"That's where you come in..."

"What do you want me to do?" Luke asked quietly.

"I want you to take the sword then deliver it to me."

"But what about the wielding?"

"You're dead. It can't be wielded by a dead figure."

"How would you know?"

"I've done my research..." This wasn't the Percy that I fell in love with. This wasn't the Percy that anyone knew.

I turned away from the room, walking back, my heart in pieces. The Percy that I loved was gone.

Forever.

****Percy****

"I've a message for you," Luke woke me up with his voice.

"What?"

"It's regarding the sword that you seek for."

"Tell me." I sat up in anticipation.

"The sword is in the depths of Tartarus, like you said. The Titans guard it though."

"I'll get it."

"Perce, why do you even want this sword?"

"I don't know..."

"Perce, how did you find out about it?"

"I don't know..."

Suddenly, my eyes glazed over in blackness. My skin became cold, chillingly cold. My mouth couldn't open, so I couldn't say anything. Then after I changed, my world went black just like before.

Darned insanity.
